What if MB2 stopped supporting Mac natively?

Website statistics suggest that many of you are running Mac OS X. I'd like to know whether native Mac support is a must for you guys.

Note that if you have the Mac version, you only need 4 small files from the Windows version to make your existing copy work on Windows. We can't legally redistribute those files, though.

In other news, we'll probably have proper Wine support soon. Wine is a support layer that allows some Windows applications (including JKA) to run natively on other platforms, like Mac and Linux.

This means that you could run the Windows version of MB on your Mac natively after installing Wine and those 4 files.

Thanks for taking the time to vote!

I remember seeing Superman Returns in 3D. It was a lot of fun minus the part where the movie sucked.

    There is a native Mac mb2? :p

No harm in continuing the Mac version, especially if a good amount of people are using Macs.

I don't want to have to install a 3rd party program to just to play MBII, and won't if it comes to it. I hate using VM software because people can't be assed to just make the game compatible for the mac platform.

It's not a "can't be assed" thing. It's that we need some software that doesn't seem to exist (even for money) on the Unix/Mac platform. (Yeah, I was surprised too.)

It is also a simple 3-step (Install App, Install Wine, Install Windows Binaries) process so it shouldn't affect much of your time, and shouldn't be too hard to use/play with.

Wilde, why don't you mail Lucasarts and ask them about if its okay to somehow release the win binaries to those who have the mac ones?

and wine is not as great as you think it to be
it supports very little games since it is relativly new and im almost sure it's not as easy as just reaplacing 4 files

Please just continue the mac support, PLEASE!

It is that easy on Linux Wine. JKA is one of the few games certified to work on Wine. Unfortunately, we don't have any Mac testers willing to try out the theory. (Supa :P)
