Hello. I've downloaded MB 1.6 today, and I must say it is great!
Unfortunatelly, there is lot of bugs in the maps:
jabba: Some passages (i.e. in room with black 3po's head) are inaccesible at their full width due to too low curves.... Sorry, it is bit confusing, but there is one 'hole' in the wall and player must be at center of it to enter it. If player is near wall, curves block him.
jabba: Lights without lightsources... Oh... that is the old error... Tell your mapper to add some lightsources in the stairways and corridors
lunarbase: missing music with nasty error
lunarbase: missing texture on the side of the pipe on the wall near spaceship ;)
jabba: Jabba the Hutt is toooo small
Another bugs: Pulse granade is a trip mine... Oh man...

lol - 5 map bugs on 4 maps is not exactly what I'd call "a lot".
It is intended that Jabba is that small because he otherwise wouldn't fit through some doors. And as we are still in beta, there are more important things than reworking half of the Jabba map just so we can scale Jabba properly.
What's that pulse grenade comment supposed to mean?

Pulse grenade shows up as a pulse grenade to me...
No missing textures either...

Look, we all know ure a skinner/mapper, no need to criticise. As Cerberus pointed out - it's still a beta. Just enjoy the game, eh?
I'm pretty sure it depends on resolution a lot of the time. I myself get some errors like the clone rifle showing up as the normal jka gun, and the pulses showing up as tripmines when selecting.
I run in 1280x1024 which I think is higher than most, so this problem often goes unnoticed.

If i were to point out all the bugs i and most of the veterans know of.............geez man the damn list would be endless
like one small one that isnt a bug (just a taste):
when jabba moves he makes footstep sounds.
its small things like this that doesnt even matter
either you play and be happy or dont play at all

There's a lovely bug on Lunar Base. In the side corridor entrance, if a Mandalorian jetpacks upwards, he will sometimes go through the glass ceiling and be stuck outside the map. He can walk atop the glass, but if he moves to the side he dies, as if he were sucked through one of the breaking glass windows. This has happened several times, going both directions - from Imp to Rebel and Rebel to Imp. Also, on Cloud City, outside of the Slave 1, you can wallbug in the curved portion. Just a heads up.
this bug is not a MP bug: when im playing SP are the gun who shod shoot yellow bals, a clonerile, eith same effects as an clonerifle, and then i cant see the imp pilots, i dont now why but i allways have to use sense to see them. ofcourse this bug didnt hear to this topic but i dont want to do a new topic for a small bug like this. and the blaster wich imp pilots is using is not so bad, so you can just run away :D
This is an MP mod, it's not meant to work in SP.
About weapons, most of them are JA guns instead of new ones: Arm blaster is concussion, pulse grenade is trip mine, clone rifle is repeater, clone pistol is demp2. You should fix that...
So how about missing textures or missing soundtrack? Is it a small bug?

You are talking about this as if it was easy. Actually, adding new weapon classes is a major pain in JKA. So, replacing them works just fine for the time being.
If you are talking about those guns being displayed to you as their JKA equivalents, this is a problem on your end caused by having too many stuff in your base folder. I guess you know that JKA has load limits on just about everything.
So how about missing textures or missing soundtrack? Is it a small bug?
Small bug and will be addressed in the next patch (which I'm not gonna give an estimated release date for).
Well, youre right about the weapons, that they are alot like there JA base counterparts, but the guns in MB are more BASED on these, as in the team worked off of the models to make them for MB. However, if you think the clone rifle is a replica of the repeater, then one of us is crazy (ok, one of us may just be mistaken, not crazy). Also, since valserp said u were a skinner/mapper, (i didnt know that) then how in the world can you make guns out of scratch. You cant exactly go and get some models off of a person model, and convert it to a gun, right? And I have no idea where the MB team got the models for the guns, but they DO look really good (and very ORIGINAL) dont they. :rolleyes: Oh and about the release of the next patch, I wouldnt try asking anyone, youre just gonna get the same answer every time, and I know some ppl who get really annoyed by that.

Of course we made new models for each MB-specific weapon... MeusH is probably going at the fact we just replaced basejka weapons with our new ones instead of adding new ones - although I don't see that as a problem at all as we don't need most of the basejka weapons anyway...
O, ok, ya, I dont see why that is a problem. Half the time, if you had the base JA guns, then it wouldnt make it MOVIE realistic, right? I mean, you didnt see ANY repeater guns, or even things like the demp in the movies, did you. AND besides, would it really be fair to have a missle system? Is this what what MeusH wants?

The missing weapon icons is not (atleast solely) caused by too many files in the base JA folder.
I have a clean copy of JA, with just the MB2 mod installed, and a number of weapons are missing their icons.
As suggested earlier, I believe it is resolution &| texture bitdepth issue.
I'm running 640x480, r_picmip 5(texture detail < minimum), bitdepth & texturedepth 16bpp, geometry detail minimum.

Well, not solely, but in most cases it is caused by too many files in base.
I think it's rather the lacking reliability of the pk3 loading system than a resolution problem. E.g. I'm running the same settings as you do (except for texture detail which is set to minimum at my comp - maybe you can try whether setting texture detail to minimum solves the problem) and all icons are there.
Hello again. I have a few bugs for you to fix :)
Droideka has no icon... on radar it is atst :(
Droideka does no damage when hit someone... It should do damage like swoop
Droideka can't be able to 'jump' by running on player, taking place at head of a player and then flying... Jump at the head should be disabled, gravity of droideka must be hard, too.
Those aren't map errors now are they.

And I'm fairly sure Droideka's do ramming damage, but there is no knowdown for balance reasons.
And gravity is not a simple thing to change.
Dekas do 1 damage now, they used to do lots more... and that's all they used, they just kept knocking people down and running over them.
On climbing people, yes it look pretty weird.
well rolling full speed into people should knock them down.

No, it shouldn't. We already had that and it was terrible gameplay-wise.
dont know if this is a bug but its great fun,
Wall hanging,
a)jump on a wall
b)hang off it
c)as your force mana goes down press block
D) your force never goes down and u can hang there all game,
This is excellent in cloudcity when u hang over voids, then when some1 runs past u jump off behind them
Only thing is you only hang at, head height so its hard not to be seen,
Also in cloud city when u are reb and get halfway to the imp spawn, if you sit at the table and call a waiter no-one comes, i think this is a oversight of the MB team and should be rectified......we need waitors to take our orders! many a thirsty jedi has faught thru a thirsty spell!

it is kinda unreal how a heavy-ass deka can just appear on top of ur head
im thinking the animators can make it more realistic in next build

Yeah, I agree. It is really wired when I see droideka rolling over my head...
Map erros, again:
Cloud City - why won't you make some sun light? Landing sites are black... it just ******
Cloud City - there is a red corridor. One doors have missing texture
Cloud City - no music specified
Cloud City - in the red corridor, spectator can fall to the void due do the teleportation thru doors
Tantive - break rebel's doors, and go forward instead of left (there is a CC in the left). There are the doors and small room. If spectator goes there, it is teleported to the void
Cloud City - void can be seen thru the curvy corridors
Cloud City - players can go thru curvy corridors and hide.
Anyway, I love the cloudcity skybox :)
P.S. Fix that all ASAP!

Not sure if this counts, but should a weedy soldier really be able to punch open the end door in tantive?
Wookiee maybe but not humans.
So if you won't any music, make blank mp3...
And ppl can fight with lightsaber or fight with melee thru the doors on Tantive... Y'know which one. Fix that.
And I really don't care about your maps, I just want you to make them better, so listen me and I don't wanna hear any sarcasm.

Bug reporting is appreciated - but we don't take orders.
have your own music and load it formt he consol. And they will fix the bugs when they choose too, though a coupel of the bugs can oly be fixed by a new patch. Spectator bugs are of no concern as they dotn affect gameplay much, if you get keep being sent into the void spectate someone and avoid that area.
Oh, fortunatelly I don't use killtracker.
There is a blank audio file in the assets.pk3, just to avoid that ugly red error...
More errors: Droideka has human's death shound (arrggh)
Lunar Base: Players and spectators can go throught the big hangar door to the void.
Fix the doors on lunarbase, they are horrible. They sometimes won't open for whole round.
Control Room doors on Tantive should have green crosshair :D
I hope you don't mean the doors which need to be opened by completing an optional objective...
No I mean the double doors... Use triggers correctly, so they will open when someone is near...
