Reinforcements Bug

Hello all,

I have been testing out B16 and noticed this during the private Beta Test I was involved in but wondered if it would be fixed for the release. Perhaps it hadn't been noticed, I don't know? Anyway the problem wasn't in B15 as far as I can remember.

Here is that bug:

Countdown Appears,
I choose Soldier Class,
I pick my points on Lvl1 Rifle & Lvl1 Reinforcments
Countdown on about 4...
Countdown ends, I spawn
Press TAB and low and behold I only have one life!

Really wierd, as I had chosen before I spawned.

Another little niggle -

I was playing a game with some thermals and two lives -

I wanted to get rid of the thermal so that I could get my third life. I was on Life 1.
I got shot :o and when I spawned again I didn't have the Thermal, despite it said I'd have to wait until the end of the round...

yep keeps happening to me sparodically,whether i have 2 or 3 reinforcements, sometime i just start the round and when i die, i have no extra lives. Happens on all maps, i've been using the rebel pilot model.

I had level 2 Reinforcements as a Soldier on Tantive during some of the beta tests and I only somehow managed to get one life instead of three. I thought it was an error in point allocation, but it may be the bug you speak of...

I think that if u have 3 lives already and the round starts before you press okay button, you get only 1.

Or was it scripted that way so an afker will die with the first kill??

I had done it where my points were allocated and confirmed.
I think this bug lays in with the "unable to join" bug (from having points/class all set and try to join during an intermission), where you are required to switch class, reallocate points, switch back to your chosen class, allocate points and apply.

i dont buy that rusty. create a new bug to adress the old one! nah the old one would just have been fixed.

Any way that would make no sense as some ppl change their settings after they die.

Anywho it happenend to me and i didn't change my settings, and didnt press save settings as i lagged

Im loving how ive only seen some players that i kind of dislike instead of the ones that were spitting venom

If you change your settings at the start of the game BEFORE you die, you can move the points for reinforcements elsewhere. allow me to show you

Reinforcements: (2) (28)
Themals: (15)

now lets say after you spawn (at the start of a game) you move some of the 28 (of reinforcements) to the themals (assuming you don't have any) now when you respawn (minus a life) lo and behold you have a themal. (yes when you didn't have one before)
Now do you get it deegs? sheesh that why you would alter them at the start.

Let me try, step by step:

1- Pick any class with reinforcements (if at 80 points soldiers don't get much from this).
2- Once you spawn change your points from reinforcements to something else (thermals, dodge...).
3- When you die you'll respawn, but with the new weaponry.

Worst case is a clone with reinforcements which comes back with level 3 rifle.
