Jedi vs Sith Last Night (and the big thank you!)

Hi All {KoH}Rich{JI} here,

Just like to say to everyone who was online last night that the Jedi vs Sith session we had was the most fun I have had online for years.

I propose that we all arrange to do this on server on a regular occasion so if you think its a good idea then leave a reply saying so and likewise if u dont.

If everyone agrees then we can schedule a time for the match and get together for more saber battles.

Big thank you to Grasshopper, Sais, Cpt Andrew Past, <Tom> and everyone else online last night who followed the agreed rules and played well all night, sadly one guy wouldnt agree and took arms but he got owned (tho i do hate the word "owned" its particularly appropiate.)

Tho it sadly ended when Cloudcity refused to changemaps and the server locked itself into the end of game scores until we got bored and left :D

ALSO I'm gonna suggest a "sub-mod" for Moviebattles with jedi and sith only as an idea for the future as if they were to do this im sure me and a few others would happily chip in £10.00 a month for a server :) so check the "Feedback & Gameplay" section for that post soon :D

BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE MOVIEBATTLES TEAM FOR THERE EFFORTS IN MAKING WHAT IS FRANKLY THE GREATEST MOD IN HISTORY AND FOR AN EXCELLENT UPDATE LAST NIGHT(I can hear Counter Strike with its dated engine and gameplay quaking with fear as I type...well we can dream.) KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!! AND THANK YOU FOR TAKING HAN OUT OF CLOUDCITY ITS TERRIFIC TO SEE THAT YOU TAKE THE INPUT YOU RECIEVE FROM THE COMMUNITY SERIOUSLY.

lol he was on ur team ( tho u took out a quite a few , inclueding me :eek: )

anyway Rich , YEAH that was great fun , well since there is no objective in CC-map its cool to have the saber battle , would be nice to play that on the sand arena map ( think its JA , or is it JO ? )
hopefully the server is up again tomorrow and we can repeat the fun :p

lol m8 i didnt mean you Þahricida there was another guy called Em or something like that (well it was 2 letters) who was gunning and using the droideka and getting wasted tho he eventually went saber for a round before he left.

You on the other hand earned me numerous kills as the jedi went after u and i backstabbed them as they chased :) so thanx :D

Par never got me killed =P (At least not that I remembered). That was alot of fun though. I have to commend you on your 1v1 skills Rich, and Grasshopper's vs many.

I would gladly have another saber battle if i had some instructions -other- than extract files to the gamedata / base folder , or whichever one it is , PLEASE give me some instructions on how to install build 15!

I just put all the files in Game Data, Game Data/MBII and Base :confused:

If your serious about the offer of money donations, then it would be a possibility for me to keep the servers I am currently running open for longer.
..and of course whoever donated would get a say in the settings for the server. Which could of course include limiting the classes to Jedi on both sides (using server cvars I will add to the next build)

I only have a 3 month contract at the moment, of which one month is nearly over. And unfortunately, the server isn't cheap - £100 per month. And I can't possibly afford to keep those kinds of payments up on my own.
But I (/we) do get a lot for that money - including FULL access to ALL areas of the server machine .via VNC, which I really needed since - as we all know - we are still in beta and the game can have problems now and again.

However, since this server can run 2x20 servers fairly easiely (I'm sure I could add another 10-player MB [or duel] server fairly easiely without the machine breaking too much of a sweat.), the cost works out fairly well overall.

If I could get some help keeping this server up and running, it would be of great benefit. BUt I think it would need to be preoprly organised well - I'd want to be extra careful that any donations were handled properly - and ideally made directly to 4u-servers (www.4u-servers.co.uk).

Well, anyway - it's just an idea.

In any case, I'm glad you guys are enjoying yourselves. Sorry about the server hanging on cloudcity. I guess it has something to do with my set-up of the .cfg file, although I can't really see what I did wrong... :/

Hey Renegade would you care to post here the .cfg ? Not the full file of course, well you know what i mean :p Maybe we could help, I had a small JO server for example and I know map rotations can be problematic.

that was great fun (for my first time) might I add, I was Macgyver from TV.

I was impressed by the leveling up especially when my clone troopers rifle got bad ass repeated fire ;)
