Skin Bug

Whenever I go on the moviebattles server I've been noticing that all my skins have been dissapearing. It has been getting worse, it started when i downloaded all the custom models compatible with MBII, and now all i have left are the custom models. That kinda stinks because I classes like wookies only have 1 skin, and now i can't even play as that class. Any chance anyone could help me out?

I had this error before.

Chose only the skins you'll use (often people have only 1 or 2 per class) then remove all other ones. then if it still persitis remove the other skins one by one till the original skins/classes are avaliable. (or just use the skin replasement tecneak (discussed on gun squad forums in talk about everything- to change skins you don't like to ones you do on your computer.)

Of the skin pack you don't need/can't use in MB currently and of the Mara Jade skins or the emperor skins. I removed jedi like Eoth Coth (i think thats the name) and Shaak'Ti leaving me with all the obi wan, kit fisto, mace and anakin.
If you find you still have a problem you can remove characters like Padme or even get pakscape and take out 2 of the Han skins from mc_hansolo.pk3.
Finally make sure that everything for the mod is placed in the mod folder and nothing else.

The player icons and skins disappear for various classes (mostly Villian, Soldier and Wookiee) when you have too many PK3 models/skins in your base directory. The only fix is to move most supported models into your /MBII/ foldier and keep your base clean.

I managed to make a nice MB2 b15 Models Pack;

Now if only I could find somewhere to host it. :p

Have you tried attaching it to a post? Then you could stick it on the end of the skins thread, otherwise ask Cerb if he can do anything with it.

The filesize is now: 28.8 MB - half of the original.
I could null it down further by rearranging sounds and removing Blue/Red team support. ;)

Your lack of respect for normal board colours shows your ignorance :P


I am going on about how to stop this problem if you have downloaded the skinpack and want to keep the skins but have got problems with your other classes.
Delete all the skins like Mara Jade and Palpy.
Go and download pakscape (a pk3 enabled winzip) and remove team colours and variants of skins that aren't used (like the sith mace windu)
Delete the skins your not really using - like Padme
I hoep that clears up your problems in understanding me.

BTW change to the normal white please - blues jsut annoying.

i have not downloaded a skinpack, ive just downloaded some skins like trade federation droid,darth maul...and now that ****s up the mb classes.. i removed trade federation droid but now i cant be a soldier :mad:

If you have too many custom skins some of the base JA skins don't show up for selection. Usually it's no biggie, you can still use /model to select them, but in MB you NEED the icon, so you'll have to delete them (it'd be logic to start with the ones which don't have any effect in MB), or move them to another folder (if you use another mod you can put them there so you can still use them when playing that mod).

Another way would be changin the pk3's names, so they start with aa, and the skins in assets get higher priority than them.

You can have all supported skins with no problem as long as you don't have any more, the problem comes from having too many unsuported skins, since they can't be used and take a "slot".
