View Full Version : Good clans?

Once my computer gets fully up and running, and I lose my rustyness after not being able to play much in over a month, I'll be looking for a clan, and wondered if any good ones are out there. Mostly I was interested in GS, and am willing to wait until b17 or when they clean out their inactives. However when I asked these questions they seemed a little lax in their response.
So I thought I'd post them here. Mainly I'm looking for a well deciplined, well ran guild. You can have fun in a guild but still be serious when it matters such as clan bouts, and that's what I want. A fun group that is an effiecient killing machine.
I do have a ****load of guild experience, including running the #1 TacOps clan on OGL, and been running the same SWG guild called The Phantom Legion on kettemoor for over 2 years now. Also was in one of the best CS clans for a short while. When I join a clan, I give it my all and I won't be one of those half inactive players that don't do any good. But, I had some questions:
What chat system do you guys use during clan matches?
Do you keep 'radio silence' unless on status of enemies/team mates when you play?
Do you use fall-back tactics? i.e. if you're defending objective, spread out, soon as you make contact fall back and regroup? Works great usually. I have won some massive PvP battles that way in SWG.
Do you guys have a chain of command?
Do you guys practice drills/senerios during practices? i.e. if you take jabba the back way, where should everyone run to?
Do you guys have standard practices each week?
Do you enforce attendence to practices? I find a 3 strike warning system works good. Makes the force deciplined also.
Is there a clan out there that does this and happen to have good players?
I'm not in GS, but i'm pretty sure their teamwork is more generic than that, like Sauron's orcs more or less (hit enemy, not friend, kill enemy before he kills friend, all that) :P
There are clans out there, Fall, but you won't be getting into one unless they ask you. :p
Err, never mind that, RA invites everyone.
I think we have...and this is a personal preference...in order from the best clans to the worst: Gun Squad
Tenebrarum
DS (Dong Squad?)
RA
Methinks that be its...

Always good not to tell the name? :p
Also I don't really think it matters whether you have SWG experience or not since SWG and JKA:MBII are 2 different worlds.

BG? UKF?
DS is disbanded, and don't forget BG and UKF.
Gun squad isn't recruiting atm (I'm pretty sure) and neither is Tene, though we are handing out invites. There are a number of other clans like SW (I think they merged with BG though) but I don't know them all.
gunsquad are a very good clan to be in in my opinion. The reason for this is they recruit solely people who have proved themselves to have good personalities, rather than basing recruitment purely on skill. Its a very friendly little group.

Oh yes, SW ofc, they didn't merge though. I believe there is a BS as well, saw some of them some days ago.

Shameless advertisement there Acid, but I agree :p.

i can vouch for that also, GS has some good people in there and i enjoy playing with them, BG's princeples are more or less the same also, and SW has not merged with us although it was considered once but SW decided not to. but BG stands on the same ground as GS, we are not looking for skill mostly but people we (or i) think to be mature a good team player and not overly concerned about B16 imbalances.

[KP]s goal is to have fun gaming and interacting with others. We try to be a fun and silly clan, and we produce Jedi Academy movies on the side. We also are pretty skilled. Our mod of choice is "Movie Battles II" but I would like to play more base JA myself .
The thing about our clan as opposed to other clans is that we don't put so many rules down as others. The only rules are that you don't go inactive for say, 4 months, or something, and that you are respectful to others in the clan.
Also, there is no pressure to join and there aren't a large amount of trials to take. In many other clans, if you go to their server, you are harassed and asked if you want to join repeatedly. If you still like their clan (which myself I wouldn't if I was treated like that) you have to go through dozens of tests to see if you can even get in!
We accept people regardless of skill, and we have classes set up to teach newer players, as well as old, how to "pwn everyone!1"

I seriously doubt MB2 clans do that...

thats pretty mean. i know that RA might be a little "noobish" but infernox is back and we are willing to get every thing on track.
I still think this shoulda been taken care of in Pm
And sneaky DS didn't disband "just alot of things happened and DS has went through a crisis almost like RA" if you dont believe me ask jedistrike.
NVM i need to catch up on MB i've been gone

It's a long post. Clarify?
*******NOTE: DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANT TO HEAR MY OPINION*******
These are the clans that are out there and in the order that I think is the best:
GS or BG (I say they are about even and both looking for the same qualities)
Tene (I say they have lots of skill but maturity is an issue)
SW (Great skill and very mature)
UFK (Getting more recruits so they should be better)
DS (Maturity is an issue here as well and skill is not so great)
NrA (Rarely see someone from here nowadays but some people are good)
RA (Some people are ok and some people are really noobish)
KP (The only person from this clan i see is Toke so i cant really judge)
*******NOTE: DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANT TO HEAR MY OPINION*******

i have fun with mature players more than i do with kids that complain all the time. why do you think the MB team never plays on the public servers *edit* hardly :p

who the **** was dissin on ds's maturity, u know if maturity or skill as ian issue, bg and ukf wouldnt be eating my old clanmates, Someone even got into GS i believe, and i commend him for that, personally i think i assembled a damn fine team so F**k off

I disagree. Leadership in a RPG guild and a FPS guild are very similiar. Creating a lasting clan means more then just hiring the best players. If I can sucessfully run one of the best Imperial RP guilds on kettemoor for over two years (we were a pre-game guild) then it shows leadership. Leadership is good in a clan rather you are leading it or not.
Hmmm, I do suppose I should have added a little disclaimer as Scorch did, but I was mainly basing my opinion on maturity.
Kui-Dow, if you think this should have been taken care of on Pm, then you should have pm'ed me. :p
JediStrike...you should have posted a clearly thought out and calm post to prove that you are mature...this last one of yours is cleary tantamount to immaturity.
I personally like to see the Dev. team on public servers. It shows what they have learned while creating this great mod. I generally only see Dev. members on the Gun Squad server, but a large part of the reason for that is their European location. I'll not mention the other, so as to not insult those I believe I've already offended. :p

Like i said, GS is my favorite choice so far (fell03 and most the players I get along with are in it). I won't be applying for a bit, until I get a computer that works and lose my rustyness, but I'm a fairly good soldier, don't snipe much anymore but am pretty good at that, and am okay at jedi.
I'll have to check in on BG and UFK before I make my decision. But I'm not in a huge hurry.

The whole thread... not you
I really don't even see much of a purpose to this thread.... it could quite easily incite a flamewar.

ok thats it.....as for all u hu are dissing on my {DS}
# 1 we are a new clan...and got rid of allot of peep
# 2 wen i play using a gunner i wind up with at east 20-30 killz a map
# 3 {gloating} most of my killz are sniped jedi!!!!
# 4 as for maturity.... dude notice who u are playing with.... most of the comunity is about 12-15<-------------they are too young for maturity... and as for me im 18<----------and i laugh at the kids arguments
i think ur getting {{noobs,immaturity, and little kids mixed up}}
when u play notice who blabs theri mouth off...and hu talks only to help thier gameplay or to say hi....as ive noticed the older these people are...the quieter they are
as for ur clan raitings.....there are noobs in every clan.....and there are good peep in them also DONT DISS THE WHOLE CLAN!!!!

I 100% agree with you, though I'd put BG over GS. They're pretty close philosophy and age wise, but I miss the Blue Green binds :(
plz don't rate RA, I will feel better if don't about the clan right now.

To me, the "clans" in MB2 are not clans at all. How many clan matches have been there? One? The small community and the various areas in which people live really make it difficult to find a server for a fair game ping-wise and time-zone-wise. The clans mentioned aren't much "clans" as they are "teams" - groups of people trying to achieve the same goal. I myself am in GS and it's nice to play with the GS guys but again it's more of a team than a clan. I would hate for the community to get large and be fulla exploiters. But then again, without the community getting large there'd be no point to playing the game or being in a clan.
[KP] Tokakeke

Yeah, you're right. Of course there should be more communication between clans in order to set up clan matches.

DS (Dong Squad?)
RA

Let Me Do It, with Colours!

The Judges!(Not really a clan, but we kick ass and have admin powers, Go Shagedelic Three Eyed Cow!)
Twinz (The Best Clan In The World, The Stealthy And Tactical, Only The Tk counter stands in their way!)
Gun Squad(That's Not Including Walker)
{BG} (Big Gehornies!)
Tenebarum(Even though everyone LEFT, they act as a clan of spectators)
DS (Disbanded Squad)
NRA (n00B Republic Army)
={RA}= (Recruiting All)
(P3) (The Cute n00Bs on the square)
{UKF}(United Kingdom Frobbits)

Sorry, what was the question?

We wanted to have a clan match but first we needed to get the team leader back and ready.
I belive this thread to be what one would call...
Tooting one's horn, perhaps?
But honestly, look for a "clan" that suits you. But as a simple guideline
1. Observe their skill
2.Observe their maturity (Too bad Meister!! )
3.Picking clans that restrict classes is okay, but leaves them vunerable to clans that don't.
4. Desperate clans= No-No.

yeah, i don't mean to start any flame war. I suppose I could of PM'ed every single member of the forums (cause I dont know who all the leaders are) but wouldn't it just be easier to make one thread instead of PMing everyone who I even suspect is in a guild?
Thanks for your imput guys :)

Well than u said you got info.
Then this thread no longer serves a purpose
Raptor just 'cause you left tene doesn't mean everyone left.
Chaos, you're in our clan fool. *Smacks Chaos*.
Anyway: ExarKun the leaders for the clans (and pretty much everything else you need to know about them) are:
BG (Blue Green Team):
1. {BG}Virus, {BG}Tiger, {BG} Jirec (I think thats it). www.got.to/bgteam
Their forum names are:
Vi-rus, Gabriel, and either Jirec or {BG}Jirec.
GS (Gun Squad):
2. They're a democracy I think but =Tom= and =Profcorron= do a lot of the administrative work.. www.mbgs.tk
Their forum names are:
Tom
Profcorron
Tenebrarum:
3. Headed by -|ConvertEvilJedi|-, -|Meister|-, and (hilariously) myself. www.teneforums.tk (we're not recruiting right now but we are handing out invites)
Their forum names are:
ConvertEvilJedi
Meister
Sneaky (duh)
UKF (United Knights of the Force):
4. Led by {UKF}Rusty{TL} (I think that's his rank), ukf.cjb.net
Rusty's forum name:
Rusty
RA (Republic Army):
5. Led by -={RA}=-Infernox and -=[RA]=-Heero.
http://republicarmy.oxso.net/
Their forum names are:
Equinox
Heero
KP (Kinetic Penguins):
6. Led by [KP]Tokakeke. I don't really know if they have a website.
His forum name:
[KP]Tokakeke (You guessed it!)
There are other clans from different countries that I am not familiar with, like SW but they are good clans nonetheless and the clan you join should have a lot to do with your server preference.
