I bet that all you people here are going to call me a noob or something, but I was reading about the Saber v. Saber thing here, and got to the part with the different styles and types of lightsabers, and it was talking about saber training with offense 3 and defense 3 and things like that. What is saber training and how do you do it? Sorry if you think that I am a noob, but please answer.
The first post is always a bad post, but non-theless i am here to help.
Saber training and such (www.freewebs.com/noob_mb)
It just refers how good you are, Like;
1 offense will gain less BP per secound than offesne 2
1 defesive will block less than defesvie 2,
It is 'trianing' training, but you do learn from trial and error...

so you just get points or skills from playing?

There are some things which can't really be explained. Play a few rounds of MB, and it'll be a lot easier for us to explain things. Trying to work without any common ground would be extremely difficult.
Welcome, though.

Points= Gain vary's every round on how well you do, Team kill and you lose points.
Skill= On how well you can beat someone, Lets take me and you, If I was to battle you, on any class, I would possibly win because I have played for much longer (Unless I get B16'ified) everytime you beat me, somepart of it gets jamed way back in your head, it may be alot, or not so much, but you are gaining skill everytime you beat me or I beat you, you cannot loose skill but you can forget it.

Alpha, granted that site is rather basic it's definitely a good tool for a totally newbie to get into the game and learn some quick tips and tricks. I applaud you. If you need suggestions I will be glad to add onto that.

Remember: Do not take a defeat as a sign that you are not good or the mod is not good, take it as a chance to alter your tactics and learn from it so you can cut Alf's head off next time :p

Ok, so I was playing, and I am a jedi and holding block, but his saber doesn't move when there is blaster fire coming towards him. I have full force. I look at the other jedi and theirs are moving, and not losing any BP. Am I doing something wrong, and if I am, what is it?

my near-bound typing thing is "h4x" which i randomly say if i die or sommat :p
Meh, I suppose I do a little of that...I feel so ashamed...
I now change my death bind thing to: " =o" and, "hax! :P".
Yay.

As for the BP, BP only drains when saber fighting. FP drains when blocking bolts of blasterishness.
For the saber moving thing its either a bug on your end or the aimer is only shooting in one place all the time.

Wrong! Your bp also drains when you're fighting a gunner (when you swing), when you jump, and when you roll.

BP has absolutely nothing to do with blocking blaster/disruptor fire.
as for your saber not moving, are you sure that you were holding just rightmouse? it you were accidentally holding down both mouse buttons, you were "mblocking" (manual block)--that is only for advanced saber vs saber.
BP has absolutely nothing to do with blocking blaster/disruptor fire.
Note where I said (when swinging) meaning it drains bp when you slash a gunner.

well, I was just holding block. you hold it down, right? He just doesn't move the lightsaber to where the blaster things are going. it just stays in the "Defense position."
Being a jedi/sith really aint that hard.
Your lightsaber is your friend befriend it and it may server you well betray it and it will be the end of you.
When the lightsaber is idle (when your not pressing anything) it deflects nothing
When the lightsaber is in 'Defesive poisition' (hold down alt attack) it cant deflect most things (when you run out of force or BP it wont protect you, BP=Saber, Force=Blaster shot)
Hi-its-me

yes, i know, but it doesn't deflect anything, I have full BP, in Defense position, full force, but his saber just doesn't move to deflect the blaster shots.
It's just a visual thing right? The bolts bounce off, just the saber doesn't move.
Hi-its-me

sometimes, and sometimes not. Half the time, they bounce off, but they hit the saber. Any time that the person isn't shooting towards it, it just kills me.

I dont get what you are saying....

ok. His lightsaber doesn't move to hit the blaster shots and I die. I am not lacking in BP points, or force. and I am holding the alt atack/ defense button.

When you refer to 'his' you mean your lightsaber? and your supposed to look in the direction of the blaster fire to deflect.

Yes, mine. So you look at the blaster bolt that you want to deflect? how do you do that if there are a lot coming at you?
so you just get points or skills from playing?
You get 4 points for suirviving the round. You get 5 points for completing the objective. You get 1 point for every kill. You get 0 points for doing none of that. You get Negative points for attacking your own teamates and you lose more points for killing one.

Ok all you do is hold down the block button and make it in the direction that the blasters are coming toward you. The force (bottom right hand corner) is your life against gunners. Same thing as your bp is your life against saberists. If your force runs down low, block doesn't do much. Thats why you need to always watch your force. If there is a lot of blasters coming at you and they are making your force low, you should either hide or jump around (without losing force) These are just the basics. Im just too lazy to type even more.

ok, sorry, for the third or fourth time, the force meter is full, and there is only one guy attacking me with an e-11 blaster. I am holding down the defense button, he goes into defense pose, I am aiming at the dude shooting and the blaster bolts, but my guy, me, just doesn't block them, with full force, full BP. By the way if you want to see for yourself, I play with the name of Matt for the last 3 days.

have you got defence?
ok. some basic i'll try to explain.
there are 3 parts to set up a char and play the game.
part A, select class
Part B, select skin
Part C, Assign points.
ok a and b are symple, to assign points click on the thing that in base ja is the assign force power points.
anyway with jedi/sith there are afew basic lots.
theres nutral force powers (eg. jump/push/pull/speed/seeing) specialised forcepowers (jedi = heal + mind Trick, sith = grip + lighting) And saber powers,
saber powers are offence, defence, and block. offence controls your saber styles, mainly anyway. Defence controls how well you block blaster, and also abit sabers, if you have pretty much any level under 3 your easy pray for a suped up gunner.
and block, block controls bp/fp regen. aswell as abit of saber fighting stuff.
when you get lev 3 defence/lev 3 offence you can get dual saber or staff.
and remember typically we're there to help. (well atleast some people are)
if you want, get xfire or yahoo and add me (profcorron) and if i see you i'll try to join you on the server for abit of support.

Ok, got an x fire now. Anyway, I think that It might be sum sort of glitch, because when I had some guy just shoot straight at me, the blaster shots all went to the saber and it blocked them, but the saber still didn't move or anything. Is there a way to block the shots while moving faster than the slow defense position?

It's not faster. It's a client side thing. You won't be able to see yourself deflecting blaster bolts, but you will see other saber wielders move their saber to deflect them. There's no difference between their blocking and yours. But you lose less force power when you use the blue stance to block blaster bolts.

ok, I guess that I am just a noob, but whatever. What I meant about faster was can I move faster and still block blaster shots?
By normally running you can block blaster bolts that happen to cross your path, but you'll lose alot more force power when running and taking fire from blaser fire at the same time. And you have to be moving in a direction to block like this.

well, I haven't experienced this but oh well. Sorry everbody for this, I just got confused and I don't know anything about this.
I hate it when i see my ally just stand about 1000 meters from a blaster rifle, holding down block, letting his other ally's die, not doing his objective, It just makes me depressed

that works to :D
It's hard to do an objective when your under fire. And if you don't like it, you'll have to talk to that specific Jedi player and ask him to help instead of standing still.
