Got all nostaligic tonight and decided to find the very first time MB went public (Nearly two years ago now!) on LucasForums...
http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=94813&perpage=40&highlight=Movie%20Battles&pagenumber=1
...this was the first version of MB - for JO.
...some of you may find it interesting to read 'the birth of MB' :)
Back then the mod had an impressive team - ermm - just me :D

I got it to work. I didn't do anything, but now it works.
Very nice job, but it causes my game to crash sometimes.
I guess you had problems with that even then :p

Heh ;) Guess you can take comfort in the fact that once MBI came out of open beta (what we are still in now with MBII), all crash bugs were sorted...
...unless one of the MBI guys tells you otherwise...!
YES now MB is gonna grow and expand bigger. you may need more team to keep up with the needs of the greedy

have a look at some of the old mb2 and GS threads, thier pretty funny too. i mean most of the stuff was around a year ago now...
And I certainly plan to keep working on it. There's still lots more I want to do...
todays about 8th of april 2005, thats about 5/6 days and 2 years.
and Alesh shows up
Well i've noticed all sorts of weird things happening in the console when going to spectator mode/back to game (couldn't execute comand CMD somethingihadjustdoneintheconsole), apart from music stopping.
I also crashed to desktop very often (I think it was always when starting a new round or changing classes).

I'm with Toka on the Kui what are you smoking issue.
:p
Frankly, half the time I don't know what anybody really means to say in their posts. I sortof puzzle it over, make a reasonable assumption, then pretend everything is peachy.
~Gabriel
I still remeber when i played this with my friend. :p And i was waiting for a server to get up. So i could play this mod with more ppls. :)
And finally it was, and i was playing there everyday (like i do now :p), with my old name Jimmis...
and Alesh shows up
Whoa
I knew i had played the JO mb once but i sure didn't remember that, but yes that's me.
We should make a JO MB1 server and play some games there :p

So we can celebrate mbII's birthday on the 15th March, because your post on LucasForums was the 03-15-2003 11:30 PM :D

i must admit i love this kind of ''finding the roots'' thread. its like digging old fossils. there is always a surprise for you even when you think you know everything about a certain thing.
surely mb2 is a mark in the jka community. one day this mod will appear in future history books :p.

Yeah, I saw that mod at jk2files.com, but I thought it was just another ****ty mod (now I know I was pretty wrong though), so I didnt download it.
If I remember right, this is how I found out about mbII:
I saw a link to the (old JK3Mods.com) Movie Battles II forums in a signature on Jedi-Knight3.de. I think the link was in Darth.Hunter's sig. I checked the forum out and everything was pretty interesting. I registered there, but after a few weeks the MBII Team got their own website + new forum. I registered here too and since I first played b12, I knew it, I knew that mbII was the mod we all waited for. :)
I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I hadn't pressed that link in someone's sig..
Probably I wouldn't play JKA anymore and I would never have experienced this wonderful mod.
