Is it not a bit silly to remove and close links to modifications that are borderline cases when it comes to balance issues?

I was not aware of this being a known policy of yours. The rules only say:

Any replacement mod links, advertisements, etc will be deleted on sight unless they contain the following:

* A link to the original file
* Explicitly mentioning the original author's name
* Explicitly mentioning that you did not make the skin and/or model and that you only did a simple task of changing the directories around so that it is playable in Movie Battles.

Nothing here about replacements that could cause a theoretical advantage/disadvantage.

Besides I distinctly remember a thread by Azuvector about new grenade trails, that were quite an advantage to use. That thread was never closed and I can only assume borderline cheating distributed by team members is alright.

I can see why you need to remove things like wallhacks, or other kinds of cheats, but to curtail the players`ability to modify their playing experience within reasonable boundaries seems a bit silly. After all there are probably tons of people who know how to remove or edit the visual parts of many weapons like the TD, poison, flames, and so on. Stopping them from posting it would only cause them to distribute it through other channels. (If they wanted to)

Besides the Projectile rifle replacements seemed to be more about aesthetics than gaining a comparative advantage.

So my advice is this: Either make a rule about what type of modifications that are allowed, or let people release their sort-of cheats, even though they are not part of the team :p

The grenade glows were supposed to be in already, he justs didnt do it.. I think. The grenade glows are now in MB2 though.
'Tracer' Projectile rifle shots... I dont see the problem tbh.

In that case, lowering down the enhanced effects is cheating in a way, because of the amount of smoke enhanced effects can create

This is true but then again, if you turn your effects up, it shouldnt effect anyone but yourself... So its giving the enemy an advantage (Which is stupid).

The whole "advantageous effect" outrage is just by noobs who don't want anyone to have fun.

The so called advantage, if any, is minuscule at best and will never decide the round.

(I'm not talking about stuff like the shader turn-all-surfaces-to-glass thing, I consider that a hack)

The reason i dont use high efx is because cr3 smoke makes me lag. :) Which is not fun in any way.

Not something I usually handle, but it's up to moderator discretion.

If it's strongly game-balance breaking, we'll probably shut it down on these forums. If you want to protest a decision, pm a mod (or supermod).
