Ah, silly me. I thought that clicking free lead to the main site, where you're supposed to sign up for your own hosting or whatever.

Interesting gameplay idea and objective... however it could look a lot better with some more detail (and how about some lighting, it looks like it hasnt even had a full compile).
You dare to give SJC bad reviews :eek: :eek: He's one of the best damn mappers out there :eek: :eek:

SJC wasn't mentioned at all and I'd highly advise reading his final responses at the other thread. Hype is all but that......hype.
or in this case merely a mis-understanding ;)
I think its awsome, unbalanced in SA mode but It was sooo much fun 2 play as imp, and fun on rebels when semi auth wasn't in. It seems a little hard for jedi to have to camp the center when they can be shot from at least 180 degrees at all times. One last thing, I think we should get access to the stands.

indeed, I built the entire map, SJC had nothing to do with it, and I would never give him a bad word, hes one of the most polite people I've met

Lindsey this could be a good map but currently how its set up its terrible. I don't mean to be rude or anything but seriously imps OWN rebels on this map like no ones business. All imps have to do to win is play droideka and mando sniper and they pretty much cant loose. Also the monster (forgot its name) can't kill a deka!!!! Which gives imps another advantage. But because rebs have to stay in the circle the imps can just spam deka/mando sniper and sit in thier spawns and pick off the rebs. Theres also almost NO cover, just that little tripped over hover thing and that provides cover just from the high platform which isn't even a crucial spot especially because you can get hit by all imp spawns right at the start and get beaten to a bloody pulp in less then 30 seconds by dekas who just have to lay down a spray fire and then mandos who pick off everyone else. Sorry for being such a hard critic but these things need to be addressed imps have a terrible advantage on this map.
If you could make it so the jedi are b15 jedi, then they might stand a chance :cool: :cool:

Ok...When i first saw this on the server select menu i downloaded it right away then i played it in single player...wasnt that impressed....then i took it to 'Fun fun' server....when i got there all i saw was spam and republic getting TOTALLY owned.
The Genosis arena idea is/'was' great thinking, but there are so many mistakes;
Mistake - Idea
1)To be, or not to be....
The arena in the film wasnt that BIG and the chariot in the middle inst that big either AND still with the clone republic ship - Make the clone ship smaller and add two, the three columns, two of witch where destroyed in the film using the 'Sonic blaster' thingy, possibly add destroyed rock where the jedi could hide from incoming fire.
2)200 jedi are no match for spam SBD's!
Spam, yes the word Mb uses most, next to 'Noob' and 'Pies' all i know is that there was 1/2 as many SBD's than Droids, but all of the people on the CIS team where SBD's and DEKAS... - When AU comes out would there be 'limit class?' if so, put to 6 SBD's, 5 DEKAs and rest as droids....
3)Stairway to heaven....baby
Ok, the stairs near...oh wait...IN the arena, ok in the film, if the stairs where actually in the arena Mace windu would of been spotted by LOTS of Termites(Genosians) before ever getting to dooku... - maybe make another CIS spawn up there, WITHOUT stairs leading into the arena, if someone gets spawned up there, they they would just have to stay there and pick people off...dont see a staircase to the top near Fetts ship on Cloud City...do ya?
4)Ackably Ickbay, slackbay....Ackley!
LOL! I actaully liked Ackley....but only for a little while... I saw a soldier move and shooting while crouched and Ackley just stood behide him and followed...it didnt even touch him - make him faster with a little more range...if possible.
4/10 for this map from me.

Thats what i have heard from MB2 player's. Every wants padme into it. And Jango fett. that aint dumb or ignorant or idiotic. And me i just want the 2 other animals and have the colloseum seats be playable is that to much to ask...
All i did is take other's want and combind them into a post for lindsey to see...

Demanding things like clone ai coming down with the ship, animals that dont even have models, classes that dont exist, complex ai that jka couldnt handle really is born of ignorance. However I was over-hostile and I apologise.

Indeed.
I must say, I really enjoyed the map. Of course, that's because I was on the Imperial/CIS side. I realized after the first 2 rounds that it was horribly unbalanced. I was a deka the whole time, and as a whole, 20 wins for the Imperials, 1 win for the Rebels. I had 20 kills as a whole, with only one death (a Jedi got the jump on me!). As a Deka, all I had to do was stay back near that spawn area, bombarding the Rebels with my shots (level 3 firepower). Whenever I'd get low on shields, I'd go back and hide behind cover in the spawn spot, and regenerate. Then I'd do the same thing. Once 90% of the opposition was dead, I rolled out to get closer to help finish off a Jedi or what-not.
Some suggestions I'd heard from others, was that there should be A LOT more cover for the Rebels. Another thing I heard was that the time the Rebels had to stay should be shorter as well. As for what I think: I think that the spawn areas shouldn't have those corners with cover. It makes it far too easy for a Deka to snipe from.
Other people, get some balance observations going.
Hehe. When i was a Deka that Aklay thing ate me in a weird way. It like threw me and i died , really weird.
When I was a hero with lvl 3 heal I kept dying and coming back to life! It was wierd cuz I'd be spec for like half a second then have 13 hp and be firing the next one. Musta been some sorta wierd bug. When the acklay was killin me that is.
That could happen with the rancor in b14 iir, i guess it has something to do with how the acklay bite it set up.

I think it'd be much more fun if there was no objective. Y'know. Just a good, old fashioned Team FFA. With 10 or so of those Ackleys and at least 5 Rancors running around too. I don't care if it's not movie-realistic. It'd be more fun :p

What Acidus is saying is that some of these things are damn near impossible or VERY difficult to do.
What about Padme and Jango? Dude, its open mode.
I dled it and played it with solo player.
I....no offense...but I didnt enjoy it very much. That leave one person in the center thing?? And the graphics looked much worse then the pictures. The acklay was just stupid. Maybe if I see it on a server with lot of people, maybe it'd be better. So maybe ill give more comments on it when I play it with people.

simply take desann , make an animation where he crawls and make it so u can ride him....... then we have the leek.... as for the nexu take that cat model i saw on jk3files way back when and turn it into an attacking thing

Well when i joined the servers running arena they changed it so SA ( prolly lindsey) which in SA jedi cant hold off the droids........... well they can if they are smart and saber them but most sit there blocking like idiots
We do not need them to be NPC, but a regular player.

well, I didnt want hero sniper spam, I never intended the map to be a full fledges objective thing, more of a blast a thon.

The AI of creatures in JKJA is inferiour to the latest games, get over it. JKJA is getting older, not a thing in this world that can go against aging
2. Well, in the movies the republic got slaughtered in that arena, so my guess is this arena is trully movierealistic :p

granted the map isnt the nicest thing ive ever seen but the gameplay is new and fresh and fun, stick the music on full blast and you wil see what i mean, you guys expect to much from an old outdated engine ;)
Indeed, as I told them, the more detail a Map has in a area like that, the more you are gonna lag/have low FPS. As it is now the map just barely holds up with 32 players. Granted Arena isnt my nicest map to date but I thought the idea would a good one to try.
Well, if you can get the lighting a bit better, it's going to look great :cool: Good lighting can get the atmosphere this map seems to lack a bit ;) Also, those rock textures don't really blend in with the rest of the arena, you might want to consider either using new textures or using shaders to blend 'em better. Those "holes" (black spots) don't really capture the feeling of caverns, you might want to remap those too, if you feel like it :cool:
*sidenote* Bit dissapointed it does not come "pick up" the rebels in this version, now THAT would have been cool :D
A bit more complex lighting would be good.

i never thought the ship wouldove come to pick you up. i thought it would just say something.
I recently thought of one more thing that could help balance the map. Closing off the upper parts of the arena could help make it so that Mando sniping wasn't as overly-effective. That, and some of the other things I mentioned previously in this thread could make the map much more balanced and playable.
