Ok, I was wondering, could we be looking forward to other movie/book/comic/cartoon maps?
At the moment MB has;
Tantive (EP4)
Lunar Base (EP6-Coming up to)
Cloud City (EP5)
Jabba (Lets say...EP2.3 but jabba escaped :p )
and 3rd Party
Theed Streets (EP1)
Rebel Escape (Joint to Lunar base EP6-Comin up to)
Massassi (Havnt played it yet...EP?)
Deathstar (EP4)
DeathStar attack (EP4)
Coop (Havnt played EP?)
And up coming,
Hoth (EP5)
Kamino (EP2.-)
And maybe others?
But i was thinking, what about maps like
Theed hanger (EP1, 2 Objectives capture Nute Gunray and take him to another place?)
Dark Reaper Project (EP2.-)
In a surprising move, the Separatists attack the remote world of Rhen Var. and Perhaps some for the EP4-6 Time line? any ideas, Post em here (Only serious ones...No penguin spammage Vitjor..)

But DS:attack Lags like hell, Endor (Witch is a map in the making) would have ATST's? right? 3 where in the film...i think.
I'd like to see the second deathstar, if only because there'd be more varied ships, and getting inside could be interesting.
But what about lag?! its very laggy using ships and too many vechs

i was considering for my next map (after i finish dsattack) either a naboo map or a ep1 final duel map. both locations have awesome ffa maps already made for them so its possible that I could do both within a short period of time.
as for dsattack, yes it does lag which is why i tried to keep the vehicles simple..adding an interior to the ds would be a bad for fps and lag..if you the interior play lind's map lol :P
while i never really talked about it with alphabowser, I do believe coop is sometime in ep 4-6..we never really specified.
and more good news, ive mentioned this before but never really prominently, i made a map for mb a while ago, right now alpha has it and is fooling around with it. its name is mb2_sith, its rebs attacking an ancient sith temple circa ep 7 or 8. its fairly large with lots of passageways so it should make for great obj. playing (none of this new trend of 'lets not complete the objectives, just fight' stuff).

I can't wait to see a map where the Imps attack, not the Rebels. Hoth and Kaimino and Endor are comin out and the Imps attack in Tantive, but compare that to the other maps where the good side attacks:

Cloudcity (they retaliate once Luke gets there which causes the whole battle)

About movie maps and yes this is another Rebels attack map, I'd like to see a Naboo palace map that Lindsey did NOT grant us :-/
It will start in the hangar - the Republic will have to take back the throne room.
There will be two exits from there - one into the mining area where the Duel of the Fates occurred and the other goin up the palace stairs towards the throne room. The mining area can be cut short (make sure to have those closing forcefield doors and that one circular area with voids...voids = few gunners if any...lotsa bridges too) and then be linked to the palace stairs. The hangar will lead to a second floor and that second floor will be a hallway with pillars that leads to the throne room. When I finish a part of my CompSci homework ill post a ghetto picture of it.

mesa thinking there would be say 2 xwings and 2 ties that have to go in while the infantry have to deactivate automated turrets or something

I'd been looking forward to that map too. I always loved how the palace and Hangar looked in Episode 1 from the movies, and the somewhat horrible Episode 1 game.
Ever play Star wars battlegrounds look at the Trade Fed and Clone's Siege. (As in the Atst of the empire) Major difference and change for them.

This is not a common penguin. the moviebattles penguins would have incredible magic powers.
fly - penguins are magic so they can fly like mandalorians. no need fuel
main weapon: UGRLB device - the Ultra Giga Rocket-propulsioned Laser Bazooka is the main weapon of the penguin. its really quick to fire and needs no ammo. it fires laser, and rockets. the laser is a 1 hit kill red beam and the rocket makes a huge explosion 20 times more powerful than the thermal det.
dance of death - one of the penguin's fiercest ability is the dance of death. the penguin starts spining like a mad man kiling everyone around.
penguin shield - the penguin can activate a kind of AT field to deflect blasters and other weapons. anyone who touches the penguin shield dies instantly.
radioactive breath - a penguin can acumulate a deadly fish breath in his stomach that turns radioactive after entering in contact with the stomach's gastrical fluid. the penguin can unleash that fish radioactive smell into a huge deadly cloud.
claws - 1 hit, 1 hp damage.
hp: 1000
ammo:0
force pool:400
fear the Penguin
right now they are already planning to invade the rebel Hoth base.... just look at them....

Yeah Naboo Palace would be hot as that was where the real battle happened - not outside in the streets. It would be shiny with glossy marble effects with nice windows and of course a small version of the mining shaft area where the DotF happened. It wouldn't be a movierealistic map but it would include the important parts of the battle and compress them into a smaller area. It would be very fun IMO.

Hmm, the starforge would make a excellent map, but SA might be a little boaring on it, besides, IF there was to be an SA there would have to be Sith troopers too, in SA it would be Sith+Sith troopers vs Jedi?, I would like to see mannan ^^, a water map kinda, could be in some flooded area of Mannan, where corridors and so are flooded in some spots.

anyway, here's a good sugestion for a Kotor map: Bastilla's jedi strike team - Assault on Revan's ship.
jedi's objective: make your way to Revan's command room to eliminate him. jedis won just by reaching the room (u know what happened after that)
Sith objectives: hold the jedi strike team so they can reach Revan's command room!
and dont think the penguins are over.... i will not give up till penguins are in mb2!!! Quack Quack QUAACK!!!! (translation: Victory is ours!)

Hmm. KotoR is not a movie. This thread seems to be about "movie maps". So I don't think KotoR belongs here ;)
And of course, there's the fact that no KotoR models are supported by MB2 - and won't be in future.
jedi's objective: make your way to Revan's command room to eliminate him. jedis won just by reaching the room (u know what happened after that)
No... just... no. You can't have Revan as an easily killed NPC... plus it should be Malak...
Reach the command room and turn down the defenses so the republic ships can destroy the station would be better IMO, that way it could be a republic commando, not just jedi, and the sith would have sith and droids at least, so it'd make sense even if trade federation droids aren't the ones which should be there (of course unless new models were made for them to be kotor-like, and cerb's said they won't).
Sorry for the OT but i couldn't let that pass :P

nah, i didnt sugested that way. revan will not be an easy-kill NPC. jedis win in the precise moment they enter the room. they could not fight Revan because that didnt happened that way. when bastilla was going to fight Revan, Malak's ships fired against the capital ship attempting to kill Revan. so the jedi's objectives will be ONLY breaking into Revan's command room. A Revan NPC will be there waiting for them but the map will end when the jedis enter the room.
Ah sorry, i thought you meant the star forge. Yes that could work, but maybe it'd be "escort Bastila to Revan", so the team isn't force to be all jedi, or "open the doors to the ship's bridge so Bastila and the rest of jedi can capture Revan" (with a nice cutscene of the door opening, the jedi going in, and maybe Malak's ship shooting and revan dropping unconscious...).
Of course with all that you'd need kotor models, so if it's done i guess it'll be without cutscenes. Unless somebody makes a mod of the mod so models are replaced by kotor models... but that'd be a bad idea seeing what happened to the model pack.

well, we already have Revan model. now we only need a Bastilla and a sith soldier model and touche! we have all the resources to one damn good map.
There is a model pack with them in.....but i cant remmeber where....

I was working on a Star Forge map during the winter. Given that few movie battles are left to make except for Ep3, many people decided it was best to make non-movie related battles. The Star Forge map is not too difficult to make and in fact I have a good layout if anyone wants to continue my work. But the problem with it is the textures. To get the true feel of the Star Forge, I ripped the KotOR textures but b/c KotOR uses shaders differently from JA they didn't show as they should have. I had to do some editing and slowly got a few textures looking better but b/c of the textures I got bored to death. If anyone is up for the project I have a map layout drawn out with some extra goodies in the map to fulfill the feel of the Star Forge. The textures you may have to figure out on your own and don't use Deathstar ones for those are mad ghetto.
Just like posted in another thread... Was Kotor a movie? Starforge wasnt in movies but.... It your descion to make one. I want some Maps from Kotor 1, But not from 2, it will spoil The story for me.
I've always wanted a Trade Federation Ship map and a duel of the fates map. (Both already made very well at JediMoves.com).
Alteration would be required, such as making it so the gas fill room is like staying in water, after your 'breath' runs out, you start taking damage. Another nice feature would to have some droid npcs waiting outside ready for the slashing.
However objectives would be a problem, parhaps for TFS you have to disable scanners in the hangar so you could escape, and for DotF map, Trade Feds have to disable a power source (naturally rebels have to dispose of them).
And dudes, start a thread called Kotor Maps so the movie maps doesn't suffer.
Rusteh, there was only 2 jedi at the fed. starship...o_O they would be shouting 'TEAMS' if they was in this mod...

You know what would be cool, not very MB like, but a map where each team has to hold small section, like the hallway of Tantive or something, and the team that survives the longest wins. You could be fighting like say NPCs that are Ssi-Ruuk, Yuuzhan Vong, pirates, or rogue Imperials or whatever. Could take place sometime after the Imperials and the New Republic sign a peace treaty or form a Galactic Alliance.
Could be pretty cool to work with the other team. Either seperated where it allows you to brave the NPCs and attack them too, or where both sides either win or lose depending on if the NPCs win or not.
That could be fun, neverending NPC waves. And if you last the 4 minutes or so for the game round you win.
Not very MB like, but that would be fun.

Me too. I've been hungry for duel of the fates since I first played this mod.
Well you could always take the FFA map and edit it so it can be played in power duel :P (it's just a text file iir)
Of course that'd only be the jedi part, and there'd be spawn point problems i guess.

a kamino map WAS suppose to be released with b16 and i don't know why they havn't yet. must be waiting to release it with b17 cause its obviously done( it was almost 6 months ago)

How ignorant of you. Allow me to explain why I think it wasn't released with b16. That link you have, is an ffa version, with crappy ffa gameplay flow anyway. The mb2 version is not complete, or atleast wasn't in time for b16. Incomplete as in it wasn't made for the mb2 flow sort of design. You can't simply make a map for ffa, and expect it to work well gameplay-wise in mb2. Another, and seperate map must/had to be made for mb2.
There is also the map scripting that must take place for it to work properly with how mb2 is coded. And there is also the beta testing to ensure proper gameplay balance, and lack of bugs. The mb2 team likes to release things with a high level of quality.
And as for everyone spreading rumors based on their own assumptions, spreading the rumors they hear, and spreading lies about b17: Stop doing it. You're causing chaos in the community, and making it more difficult for the team to do their job. Stop obsessing about what might be in it, when it'll be released, etc and let the team work on the mod.

i got like 100+ average in most maps (on a server with up to 20 players)
in that particular map there r certain places (IE: in the hangar) where it drops down to 17 fps
i have to say i got a "okay" comp and a decent videocard
AMD 2600+/1 gig mem/ATI 9800 pro
so what u think will happen to ppl with lower comps and then in a full server ?

It was probally like this when b16 came out too? I aint causeing chao's i just something productive to do besides play and learn.

I cant say ATI aint bad but its not the gaming video card..
That dotf map was specifically made only for really high end systems. However, even high end systems have some trouble with it due to its edging of the engine limitations. It certainly is beautiful, but it wouldnt be very playable and when making maps we have to make them usable for all the players, not just a select few.

so what u think will happen to ppl with lower comps and then in a full server ?I played the thing with a mass merc war, and didn't suffer, and my PC is the dog's arse. Dirty dog's arse. Covered in.... yeah you get the picture.
My PC's best at all times is 20fps, and I played that map, with a freaking full out merc war, and my fps probably lessened to something like 15-10fps, but I don't honestly remember having any problems with it.
well if you guys are talking about LDJ's dotf map, yes its laggy. Try Shadriss's DOTF map, it has alot better FPS.
