Anyway, the story is I got the clear on buying a new pc, and the budget was $2500, so I went for the closest to $2500 as I can possibly go (ended up being like $2515). I plan to have it as a showcase PC.

What do you guys think? Isn't it awesome? I think it's awesome...

Discuss.

I think that if it weren't for me, pyjack, and meist, you'd still be like lolwut.
=D
This man turned out to be quite a large noob with computers surprisingly enough...It was fun to make fun of him while we were helpin him out.

I'd be interested in your benchmark scores so be sure to do that once meist helps you piece it together please.

Unfortunately this is quite true, I am truly ashamed.
So yeah, credits to Meist, Ford, Deli, and others for helping.

RAM and HDD was considered close to the end, when all the pricey parts were finalized. I already have a 750GB external harddrive that I use with my laptop so in the end, we picked a cheap one that will do it's job. As for RAM, I didn't really pay that much attention to what I was getting, I remember just looking for corsair brand with 4-4-4-12 timing.

Ram speed doesn't matter much, if you don't plan to oc. The most important thing is that you go for 2X2GB.

It was almost just as costly as mine, and yet mine is still better.

Damn, I thought my computer was excessive and it costs less than half of that... still running anything perfectly... lol.

Holy ****! You spent $2,500 on a computer? Dude, you could buy a car with that! And I thought it was bad that it was going to cost me around $700 to upgrade my computer when I already spent $1,100 on it, so I sold my gaming PC, because I refused to spend that much to keep it up to date and be able to play today's games on maxed out settings.

I hope you PC game for the next 6 years to make it worth it. If you're a rich dude, then never mind, you should have spent more! lol

Nice PC though.

You're a student and you spent $2500 on a computer? You won't have anything left for beer!

Yeah. That be an AMD mobo, but it'll be simple to return it for another.

Whatwhat? O_o

I'm a student, and I wouldn't have anything left after that tbh :p
So far I've spent about 400 euros in 2 years on my PC, and it can run Crysis on full (on XP with the tweak to get the same visual effects as in Vista) with 20'ish FPS :p

Oh and... you're SO going to regret spending that money on a COMPUTER when you get a girlfriend :p:p

Yeah... and why are you getting an NVidia chipset motherboard?

Are you daft, man?! Intel chipset, please...

Also, how did you manage to spend 2500 dollars on this, exactly? That monitor must cost a lot more than I thought it would, cuz my rig has all that and a bag of chips and only cost 1500 or so...

And I guess while I'm here-
