Okay, so, I used to have BF2142 installed on my PC but uninstalled it a while back for space. The other day I decided to play it again. So I install it, download the latest patch, start it up, and...it comes up with the starting screen thing in the middle of my screen, but then it just sits there doing nothing. When I figure it isn't going to start the game, I try to open task manager to close it, but it won't open. I try opening some other stuff, that doesn't open either. But everything else I already had open works fine. The computer won't even shut down properly, though. So I switch it on and off and try again, this time with task manager open pre-emptively. The starting screen sits there like before, and goes away when I close it, but I still can't open anything afterwards. And I really don't get why this is happening, because I don't remember this when I installed it before.

What's wrong? D=

Also, if it helps I'm running 64 bit Vista, my hardware stuff hasn't changed since I had it last except I've installed an extra GB of RAM. And yes I'm running it as an administrator and yes I've tried running it in compatibility mode.

I think that's your problem right there. The game was probably made for 32-bit XP (and Vista).

But it worked before. Why not now?

I'll try reinstalling though.
