It's Google. They're perfectionists. Btw, as I understand they won't be involved in games, just in the game distribution via steam.

This may be the move that saves PC gaming. Microsoft has all but abandoned the area and Crytek have joined the swarm of pc developers who are now console focused, so Valve was all that was left.

By putting their weight (and what a weight) behind steam Google can make it the primary pc delivery platform and will go some way to standardise drm systems.

Expect a press release saying similar before long. Basically this is bad for Valve short-term, but long-term it could put pc gaming back on the table. There hasnt been a serious backer for pc development in far too long.

Google made Youtube a laggy POS.

You can't watch most videos without any skips, it always hangs, even if fully loaded.
