indeed!
Mother Nature is showing us who's the boss. I guess we should just stop screwing with her. ;)
I'm always amazed at how powerful Mother Nature can be. Volcanoes, tornadoes, earthquakes, flood, hurricanes, etc. Truly devastating yet beautiful to behold. :)

I like Ike.
A new foe appears!
Ike is like Ganondorf with a sword. He's my second favorite/best character next to Zero Suit Samus.
Oh, wait.

Well if it ever comes down the wire. Us vs. mother nature - in the most glorious, suicidal battle in the history of the cosmos - we will win! Why? Mother nature can howl wind all she wants, she can spit lava and 'quake **** until she's blue in the face (....) But We'll just nuke every inch of the planet until it's molten fragments of rock floating in space! That counts as victory for us! Like smashing the windows on lunarbase and getting somebody else sucked out with you!
Seriously though, stay safe peeps who Ike's coming for. Show that bint (Mamma Nature) who's boss.

I would think the people who voted 'No' were more inconsiderate, as we're just plain telling you "Oh well, get over it and go die."

As history has shown, the strength of a tropical storm does not always coincide immediately with damage. Weak tropical storms that move very slowly can do more damage than powerfull but fast ones, and ones that attack areas with poor architectural investment [new orleans being the prime example] Can be easily overpowered by a weak storm.
As the expression goes "X number of people in New Orleans died, and a tree fell over in Mississippi"

Yeah, my older brother lives in Miami and I live in Pensacola with the rest of the family for now. I'll be heading out to maybe Gainesville next year. We lived in Homestead when Hurricane Andrew (Cat 5) hit, we sat in the house till the eye came over and left. Good thing we did, the house got ****ed up.

Good luck with that.
Though what I am interested in is why do people inhabit areas that are inhospitable. What drives people to start living in the 'extremes'? I for one would never bother moving to say San Fransisco, Florida or any other area that's known to get frequent barrages of mother nature.
Sure it's always not your choice to make if your predecessors have done it for you, but still it feels foolish to stick around when there's nothing but expenses from the natural disasters heading your way.
Good luck with that.

No matter where you move you are at risk of some kind of Natural Disaster in the US.

Yeah, no ****. You must be missing Ben's point. What he's saying is that in places like Florida, for instance, hurricanes, BAD ones, are an anual event. In other areas of the country, you could go your whole life without running into something like that. Sure there's a risk anywhere, but there's a certain guaruntee in some parts of the country.
You guys just hang on lol. Godspeed.

People "come" (I believe it's called "red rocket", "spooging", or "oh look - spilt me seed, i'm off to hell" in formal terms actually!) all the time - it's a perfectly natural thing... What's all the commotion about?
Oh wait? Ike's overexcitement will be like Godzilla pulling down his boxers and walking tripod all over Tokyo, in terms of devastation... He didn't look that well endowed in Super Smash Brothers Brawl...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, good luck to peoples in Texas... Not that you should be reading this at the moment! So get a move on and do whatever people do when big weather hits in the USA (best not do the English tactic of complaining whilst walking the dog... Don't think hurricanes take complaints well.)

Actually, you have to have a lot of chutzpah to do be able to swing his very heavy two-hand sword like that.
Also, I second Ben's question and PiloT's bemusement (or whatever you want to call that).
Ike will hit PA while I'm running a meet there.
Just like last week with Gustav.

You seriously fail. What the hell do you have against me?
Oh, Right. Just because you're on the CMP team, you think you're sooo cool.
I named you the WOOORST PERSON IN THE WOOOOOOOOOORLD!
No - I'll tell you what sucks. I am in college in San Antonio. So many people all over coastal Texas has ran to San Antonio as a save haven, it is so over packed with people. I can't even make it freaking across the street to Whataburger without fighting traffic. There is so much traffic with all these darn people in mah city it's insane.
Just saying...

Indeed, Friday morning I got up to goto school and then leave for Tallahassee right after my club meeting. Well the ride to school was sooooo chill, barely any traffic, 9:00. Leaving school at 1:00... Nine Mile Road (super long ass road here) is packed. Pine Forest Road (a double laned road, pretty long) ****in' almost halted on me. I asked myself about 12 times. WHY THE **** ARE THOSE PEOPLE IN PENSACOLA!? GO NORTH! GO WEST! GTFO!!! These roads never get that packed.
I /ragequitted by rushing out to Tallahassee as quick as possible. Wasn't much better there, because all those people who were crazy enough to drive aaaaall the way out here had to gas up their cars. So barely any gas there. I'm back in Pensacola now, it's calmed down it seems.
And if you aren't sure where Tallahassee or Pensacola is, they are on the Panhandle of Florida. Now, imagine everyone and their grandparents from Texas coming over here. And top that off with the fact that out of towners can't drive to save their lives.

I hope Kyle doesn't come. Because my name actually is Kyle. -_-
