I'm working on a map that i wish [Wish, rather than plan, intend, or hope, because there really is none] might become an mb2 seige map, it's relatively simple in design but i am facing 1 problem that occurs every time i make a map. I am having difficulty figuring out how big something really is when i make it, in terms of how it will appear ingame. Is it too large? too small? for anyone here that is a mapper, what technique do you use to figure out how large something is relative to a human being?

Might be helpful to you.
Personally I tend to make a block the size of standing height, and just keep that to one side to use as a scale next to what I'm building.
Info > Info_player_start
It's roughly the size of a player model, use the red box as a guide to how big you want to build things in Radiant, I do it all the time. But ultimately you need to test it ingame to make sure its size and positioned how you want it.
^
Edit: And obviously make it large enough to fit the heights of all mb models.

roflmao. filter fail'd!
I assume the crouching droideka is "rolling size?" If so, deka tunnels would be schmexy. ;)

Rolling dekas require more space than the size of their model to fit through a passageway. Dekas are a lousy reference point, are you measuring them by their shield height or their body height?
use info_player_start as teelos said, its the default size of player models from jka, which *most* of the chars from mb2 follow (-wooks sbds deka) and all the other obvious exceptions (yoda :P)
Anyone willing to do a .ase or .md3 model of a player(kyle katarn), so a mapper could see the needed proportions right away? If someone is able to convert a model, post a link here. Would be hell of a help.
