i d/loaded beta 15 and the latest map pack, map pack 3, but i dont have it..

guess you won't even need it since the map doesn't seem to be in the rotation.

It was in beta 14 mappack. Its obsolete though, only one server runs it and no ones ever on it :confused:

this is because it's a Build 12 server which runs it ;) I guess you cannot play there if you have Build 15 installed (as most people have).

mb_streets was probably taken out because it is a quite "un-MBII-like" map. very huge and without an objective.

i didnt like streets at first but it really grew on me i want it back in for the next build please....
at least then we get a choice if we want to play it

If you want a map like that with no objective i'm sure there is a locale from the movies that would work. Maybe theed or yavin4 base?

im aware of that , but they can just test it on their own server to find out that it is just another ffa nar shaddaa (JK2)remake

hmm maybe some of the siege maps made already could be converted to MB?
it would make a nice change even though they dont stick to the movie theme

And the difference when playing it in MB would be...? (apart from everybody being soldier since they get 3 lives...)

Unless you changed it so different classes got different ships it would play just the same, and with the one man standing aproach MB has Imperials would have an advantage since they have turbolasers helping them, not to mention MB has 5 min battles and the map usually lasts more than 10.

hmm yeah that the problem with MB the maps have to be short otherwise people will just go for tffa instead of doing the mission

oh and also i think if you lost some of the objectives for the star destroyer map and if they made the classes like the deka where the player spawns in the vehicle and each class has a different ship like jedis get that fighter and the soldier could have x-wing/standard tie
sith could get darths tie advanced and so on...i think if you make the rebels ship slightly stronger it would even out the turrets or you could just lose the turrets

A purely team FFA map wouldn't be bad anyway.... but i can't think of anything in the movies which would qualify as that...

yeah i was talking about this with a mate and we came up with using the idea for te deka. Rebels could have A,Y,X and Z59 thingys if i spelt taht right and imperials can have Ties Interceptors and other things. and like the deka each person can upgrade there ships like more power full shields or lasers or even more speed

and then only add the objectives :

rebels start in the main hangar (add the falcon there , and get rid of the elevator in the hangar (the 1 that goes up))
and have to make their way to the detention blocks (where the most of the imp spawns would be)
and save leia

tom it would be impossible to add objectives to the map as you need the .map file all you need to do to convert it to jka is make sure the textures are in the right place
i was think of making a ffa_bespin .map exactly to the measure and releasing it but the deathstar map is too complex it would be too hard to get it exact

Err.... I'm sure the Imps would just kill her right off and win. Unless you made her invincible... Nah, what I'd like to see is a death star map where you have to fly down the trench to the end and blow it up... or fly into the second deathstar and blow the core. That wouldn't really utilize much of the movie battles system though, other than the one life thing (but then everyone would be a soldier to get the reinforcements to come back since everyone would be piloting ships). I dunno, just a thought.

you see thats why we need different ships for each class
that mission only used xwing and y wing for rebel anyway so wed be kinda stuck

like i said dont do it that if your a soldier u get more lifes for the ship, do it like the deka being able to power your engines and sheilds and stuff

Id much rather do the battle of hoth. Theres an AT AT model somewhere out there and the AT STs are already in the game. Then you could have snowtroopers. Rebel commandos, snowspeeders and people on tauntauns fighting, it would be a battle from all angles (except sea of course). :D

The atat is at www.jedimoves.com , but it's REALLY weak, 3 rockets (the ones from the player weapon, not concussion missiles or anything) can destroy it, and doesn't have proper sounds (or had when i downloaded it).

I have a "fixed" version in case anybody is interested, but it uses atst sounds so only 2 legs sound right :P
