Hold the imperials until the falcon escapes?! That wasn't the obj in the movie! Who is smoking what here?! They have to defend the shield generator long enough for the first 2 transports to escape. Falcon came after imperials entered the base.

If the latter can you cut a chunk of it off and make it Luke vs Vader and palpy? XD

Based off Lindseys CMP one, new layout... better visuals, new OBJ and that stuff. It is Episode 4 tho, not 6.

Need more hoth maps srsly. Someone should put the old Hoth map (with the snowstorm) on some Servers.

I am not the only one who thinks that Vehicles in JKA handle really poorly and to be honest I did not want to create a Hoth map that was based around flying snowspeeders and large laggy open spaces. its just not interesting to map.

With the asbence of a fully exterior map, There is no real point in having to destroy a generator to get to echobase. At the moment that map takes place when the imperials have reached echobase and are starting their assault. The objective isn't finalised, But I am seeing how the map-flow works.
And as of its progress, I have been working on it alot more than you can get a whiff of in the wiki, Which includes some trench warfare. I am open to suggestions of what people would like to see in it, but its still not going to include full range open snow planes.

It won't be ultra laggy. Recently we played the siege_destroyer copy in MB on DGs server with about 25 people, no lag, no crash, just awesome.

SB destroyer is incomplete as far as i am concerned. So long as A wings remain the only usefull fighters any sentiment of enjoyment in that game will be half what it could be.

That's not strictly true. I was getting 8-10 kills a round in the Z-95 as well as the X-Wing. I got like 15 in the A-Wing, but that's another story. The problem is the Imperial fighters aren't that good. I was keeping up with an Interceptor in a Y-Wing. Not to mention unless the entire team does it the objective is damn near impossible for 2-3 to manage alone.
Whatever. The point is, ships don't lag that much. Most ground vehicles don't lag at all. Yavin with the AT-PT and AT-ST doesn't lag at all and that's a big, open map.

Anyway, vehicles aren't as awful as you all say. Yeah, they're not all that sophisticated, but they're not horrible.

The problem is the Imperial fighters aren't that good. In base siege when you lock onto an enemy with secundary fire and fire a missle, it becomes a homing missle. Because of this imperial fighters have superiour firepower (more missles), and rebels have superiour manueverability to balance it out in BASE.
In MBII however, when you lock onto someone with a missle, it doesn't become a homing missle. Hence, imperial fighters suck ass against most rebel fighters in MBII :( :( :(

You got part of it backwards and part of it just plain wrong.
1. Homing missiles in MBII: Possible; it's been done (Prison Raid V3)
2. All rebel ships except the z-95 had homing missiles, and the z-95 had a straight fire missile
3. The only imperial ship with a homing missile was the TIE-Bomber. TIE-Fighter, TIE-Advanced, and TIE-Interceptor were faster than rebel vehicles and did NOT have homing missiles (Even though A-wing should be faster than the Interceptor and the X-Wing, according to several online sources, should have the same speed and maneuverability as the basic TIE-Fighter... but I can see why Raven did it they way they did).
In closing, that's not why they'd be unbalanced in MBII, and, if it were, they are a team of modders. They can fix it.

Actually... I always liked the idea of one big map, divided into 5 minute rounds per objective. You die you only respawn once the objective has been completed or the 5 minutes are up (at which point you go back to the most recently completed objective). With continuously updated spawn points for reinforcements as you progress through each mini objective the spawn moves to the next area. This would allow for more epic almost baseJK siege but still very MBII battles.
The problem with that is doing the objective would have to cause a map change. There's no way to play a continuing battle on a map as at the end of the round everything is reset.

There's the problem. If instead of a straight reset, everything could be respawned elsewhere so you could have one huge map with three smaller maps on it we'd be away.

Isn' there a MF prefab that you could walk into and walk around in? I think is SJC's but maybe if youre allowed to use it that would be just awesome. Like after a while you would be able to hack the ship to escape.

Fact is, after 5 years of trying, I can't get GTK to work on my mac and, at this point in the game, there's little to gain from me learning now (that and, like the devs themselves, I have a life and responsibilities and can't devote much time per day on much of anything). So I'll sit here and complain to the makers about how I demand canon fanboyism. It's why I'm here.

It's movie-accurate. Why's that a bad thing tho? Rebel defense is just different 'cause of different weaps and ****. Fewer snipers.

hopefully the objective won't be able to be spammed by dekas this time around. That was one of the major flaws in my version :/

Other serves do exist, like EW, CoR, and GIN's FA server. Not to mention CF and others. Non-dotf 24/7 servers do exist! Don't neglect them, or else we will be stuck forever on dotf.
