Why does he need to be banned for simply changing the colour of his lightsaber ? i change it from yellow to green when we are actually playing

ya its very anoying when u in rebel team and he walks around with his red saber , so when he is in ur team u always have to look at name (when u see a red saber in the distant)

You dont have to have any extra effort at all , if you do then you need to learn what the models look like, i hope you know that to look at someones name you dont have to freeze and stare at it for hours , it really is something anybody SHOULD be able to do without effort , because you are bound to see the model and the crosshair and the name if you actually aim at him , i hope you and other people dont just stare at the crosshair and shoot anything thats in your way.

Also when you construct a lightsaber you can choose any colour you want , it is highly possible to get a Jedi with a red lightsaber (yes , i mean Jedi , not sith , im saying this because many people either just call the sith the jedi , but it is also making me wander if there are SW experts who really dont know the difference)

I'm not saying they couldn't do it, but the only place i've ever seen a jedi with a red lightsaber is in the clone wars cartoon, when anakin looses his, and uses one of Asajj's lightsabers.

Why don't jedi use red lightsabers? They don't need to, red lightsabers use a synthethic crystal, but since jedi haven't been hiding for thousands of years, they have had no need to synthethise crystals, it was easier to just go to a planet where you could find natural ones and then cut them. At least it's how i rationalize the "good" (blue, green) vs "evil" (red) Lucas put in the movies.

1. This is not about wheter "in sw a jedi can use red saber" or not. It s a gameplay issue I think. Afaik, everybody thinks that evil guys use red saber.

2. Sorry but I do think you have to do some extra-effort if u know that there is someone with red saber in rebel team. I know all the models, but sometimes you dont have a good sight of people and you have to decide quickly. The area can be dark, the jedi/sith can be far, or he can be using speed, or he has just suddenly appeared close to you, and the easiest way you have to verify if he is imp or rebel, that s saber color.


Let s put an example. You re a rebel soldier playing tantive4. You re waiting on side tunnel (dark red colored area). Suddenly you hear the door opening sound and you see a red saber. What are you going to do?

And well, another point is this. Someone has posted that he was mistaken with dooku or something because *he was not a sw expert*. Althought a lot of people are going to play this becasue they/we want some sw-movies-like gaming experience, there will be *non sw expert people* too. As far as I know, future MB releases will come with more models that now are not, ahem, official. Of course I agree with you Lizard, players have to learn all models. But since the teams-thingy-above-players is not included (thing that I really like), I think that MB should try to be not too hard to learn for newcomers. The evil-guys-use-red-lightsaber issue is one of the things that make this mod easier to learn.

The point is, it s more realistic to see players without that things-above-head. So there is a reason to avoid that: you gain realism. What s the reason to have jedis with red saber?

In seige games a teams icon floats abouve your teammates heads. Synthesise mean its fact no real and human made.

There are jedi with red blades made with non-synthestic crysticls (see mara jade)

Light jedi shouldn't have red blades to make differenciating easer. And if they want a reddy colour get purple its got a near red colour but a different shade so we know the difference

I,Jedi do not ruin the game for others. What do we do that ruins the games from others...other then changing saber color. By that I mean being on rebel team and change light saber color to red. I don't change mine to red. So before you start saying we ruin the game you better be sure.

regardless of how easy or not it is to determine a players team.
The games intent was for the sith to use red, and the jedi the other colors.

Red sabered jedi is mearly another exploit,
a rather pointless exploit IMO, as it causes more problems than benefits.

Hopefully it will be fixed in b16?

I belong to I,Jedi, yet i never use red saber when im Jedi. i dont see how we ruin the game for others, and i agree that its annoying when youre rebel and see your teammate use red saber... but my advice is, just shoot them, they brought it upon themselves by using red saber...
also, in the Jedi Apprentice books, Bruck Chun used Red Saber and he was a jedi apprentice... so some Jedi do use Red sabers...

I agree with Zag, I joined I,Jedi just to play with other force users and learn stuff from them.
Ithrien, I respect your leadership of the group but I disagree with the rules outlined in the forum but nevermind about that.

Anybody who wants to change to a red saber can do so by typing /color1 0
into the console as a Jedi, Sith cannot change saber colour.

Trix I can appreciate that you may have been annoyed with me scattering your entrails along Tantive IV and feeling the need to lash out, but to be quite honest I wasn't using the red saber to get an advantage.

I have 4 binds, green blue purple and red, and I cycle through them so my saber gets all 70's... not to cheat, just to showboat ;) .

And I don't know if Acidus' comments were in jest or if he actually has something against I,Jedi... regardless I've decided to leave the group, there are just too many spiteful members of this community who see a tag as a reason to hate.

If you don't want people to be able to change saber color then take this bug out of your mod, from now on though I'll replace my red bind with yellow... until Trix starts complaining about something else.

By the way since this is my first post here I'd just like to say great job on the mod, its got kinks but its only beta.

If you don't want people to be able to change saber color then take this bug out of your mod.

The bug is going in the near future.... so end of thread :)
