preface: i've only been mapping for about 1 week and ive gotten most aspects of my maps to work.. but not lava

problem: using gtkradiant 1.5.0 to create lava

lava is pretty much the same as water right? except textured and caulked differently, with a trigger_hurt above it. why then, when i caulk_lava a brush, does it become solid when i texture it? when i caulk_lava it and refrain from texturing the brush, it seems to work, except you cant tell that it's lava..

thanks in advance..

Ignore caulk_lava. Use the standard caulk_nonsolid. If the lava shader is set up correctly, it will take care of the rest of the effects.

Just to clarify here, for the new: You don't need to do anything special to make water behave like water, slime/acid behave like slime/acid, or lava behave like lava. Just apply the appropriate shaders to the brush in question and you're good to go. No trigger_hurt required.

You could have a look at the lava from one of the mustafar maps, that has really good animated lava.
