I've wanted to do something like this for ages but haven't had the time. However, I have been getting very bored recently and thought I would give it a try.
My idea is to create a podcast for the moviebattles community. It would be made up of music, interviews, bugs and other random news that I could get my hands on.
It would'nt just be me, I would get a few people to help me out, probally someone like MetaGuardian who I would be happy to work with and I know would make it good.
It would be a weekly thing and just a bit of fun for everyone. If you are interested in helping out of just like the idea let me know and I will see if I can get something done. :p

I don't really think we have a big enough community for that.
I think the idea is good, but you'd pretty much start lacking content after few podcasts done, depending on how long they are.

I was aiming for about 5-10 mins a pop, once a week

Let me be quite honest with you here, from what I've seen you post lately. Don't bother, I mean, seriosly, don't. Sorry to put it this way, but even though these days god knows how many "geniuses" can release podcasts, videos, and so forth doesn't mean you should. The amount of absolutely horrible crap out there is ever increasing, and I can only see your "podcasts" be more of this. This is the kind of thing that gives "free content" a bad name.
Considering "the content" you've posted on this forum lately just suggests that the quality of your production would be utterly horrible. I'm sorry, but I can't expect any intelligent, or even mildly humorous content from the likes of you. This is the curse of "Web 2.0"; there's so much trash out there that it makes the whole thing look bad. Do yourself a service, and don't become one of these people. Don't seriosly embarrass yourself. I mean, sure, everyone needs practise - That's why some stuff should never go public.
I mean, seriosly, am I the only one that is noticing an increasing amount of "Hey I've got this idea and..."-posts? They all fall to the dark side of "Web 2.0"-category. Stuff like:
"I've got this awesome idea for a mod, I need modellers, coders...(blabla)... What can I do? Lead it!"
"I've got this awesome movie but I need some help for it! It's gonna rock!" (no futher details)
"Hey, I did this replacement, am I not awesome?! Downloaded a file off jk3files.com and replaced a MB2 model! How kewl am I?!"
"I did this skin made in paint, isn't it awesome?!"
Ah well, perhaps I should refrain from commenting.. And just grab something to drink and have a laugh instead.
Again, I undertand, people have to start from somewhere, but even then, the people that manage to create actually *decent* stuff prepare, have a good vision, plans, notes, research done on how to do it and avoid the beginner mistakes, so don't take it in a bad way, I undertand... But still...meh.
If you really are going ahead with it... Good luck.
... Seriosly, anyone? Isn't this becoming hilariosly common?

I have to agree with TigerZeta, community is in no need of this, plus, it wouldn't do good.
But what could be nice would be a parody to the Meet the Class videos, like in Team Fortress 2...
That means every class of MB2 in a Meet the Class video... Not a great idea, but certainly better than a Podcast (sorry to sound rough).
I'd do the Meet the Class videos myself, but I'm buried under school, my own movie projects and other stuff.
If you decide to have a go at my suggestion, I would gladly (attempt to (I'm busy, but I could make some time)) help you.
No community is in the need of extra content Riles_Lek, but it certainly can't do any harm if it's made properly. In this case however, I'd put the suspicious tags over the whole opening post.
If you're not going to do this live, then you have the time to edit and make it a rockin' piece of hardcore content, yet you'd probably have to please the Star Wars fans as a whole, not just movie battles community. That'll be quite a challenge, especially when quite a lot of the SW aspect comes from high quality or scifi kind of technology. This probably means you'll have to do a lot of work in the editing room.
I do monthly shoutcasts (live) for Finnish Day of Defeat community and I have to say, if you're going on air without anything to say, you'd better be a friggin' stand up comedian or you'll just make a fool of yourself.
With careful planning (yes, more than just two hours in a private IRC channel) it might work, but is it really worth the effort?

Seriously, who cares what they do? No one is forcing you to look at and or download what they make.
Yeah, this thread is pretty harsh...

lol, I am going to give it a try
I mean, it may fail so I will only release it to a few people to begin with and see their views, I dont want to make a prat of myself.
And to TigerZeta, if people didnt have ideas, (even if they fail) we would'nt have anything like this great mod we do today or any other little things. We would still be playing base jka 24/7 with bots O.o
