Hello all. New to the group.

Going to get a new computer (and SW JA) just to experience the custom joy abound. (I have the xbox version but of course it's not moddable)

Does the mode include any custom Sidous/Palpatine fights or mods? I know there was a good ROTS Sidious set and a map pack with includes Mustafar and the Senate. Is the senate duel or Palpatines office includes in MBII Yet or is that planned for the future? Didn't see any in the screenshots.

Was looking into another mod called KOTF, but I heard all the horror stories about it being a fraud, and filled with virus and trojans. Was dissappointed but then I checked out the MBII site. Is it as robust as KOTF was supposed to be?

How about the ability for custom duels, like if I wanted a Mace vs. Vader showdown, a Luke vs. Darth Maul showdown, or an EP3 Obi-wan vs EP3 Sidious showdown? (Always wanted to see Obi-wan get a crack at Sidious since Yoda told him not to.)

Hope to have fun once everything is set and take care.

Capt C.

There is a duel called mb2_duel_senate which pits Palpatine against Yoda. As for custom duels, there's no such function in Mb2 at the moment.

you can do it in open mode in an empty server. they wouldn't be as uber as the movies though.

Depends on the saberists. There's godly ones, and there's nubby ones. It's fun to watch good against bad, and good against good.

MB2 not only has an immense saber combat system, but a very intricate gunner system, the gunners play just as big a part, if not more then the Jedi in mb2.

Palpatine: Sidious fights in 2 duel maps that I know of (office + senate). Plus his model has the "UNLIMITED PPPPOOOWWWWEEERRR" taunt.

MB2 has no single player mode. But it has 13 unique classes (counting jedi and sith as seperate) and LOADS of ways to kill people online. Plus 99% of the time you play something outrageous happens that makes you fall out of your seat laughing (example: KARUNGAH!)

Custom duels? MB2 doesn't have them, but you COULD create an open mode build for the two models and then duel them on an empty server.

There are no custom duels, duels are made with FA files (Full Authenticy) which can easily be edited, however, I dont suggest thing.
Following this, there are quite alot of duel maps where you can play as Obi-Wan, Darth Maul, Luke, Revan, Malak and others.

It should be noted that this mod may be VERY different from Base, or what you played on the Xbox. Its harder and most new people quit because they cant handle the new stuff within the mod.
Dont get your hopes up about the mod either, it takes some skill to use some of the classes and if you've played the Xbox version... Well... Thats going to be harder.

Dont be discouraged though, MB2 is fun at times and you can play however you want... Just dont go on a TKing spree or anything.

For MBII you'll need;
Jedi Knight Academy.
Jedi Knight Academy patch 1.01.
Movie Battles RC1 (Current build)
And some additional files, like the CMP (Community Map Pack) and MGM (Movie Game Mappack) which are all on this site. Dont use the installer though, its messy.

P.S: NEVER and I mean NEVER say that KOTF looks like MBII.

I wouldnt be suprised if KOTF Showed resemblance to MBII, 90% of that mod was stolen material from other creators.

Anyway, Welcome to the mod. Grab a person around and ask em to show you some ****, alot of people will be dicks and refuse, but theres the odd amount of us that'll actually help ya out. We we're all noobs once ;)

Oh by the way something that will really help you out on this game, is a Mic headset and Ventrilo (makes playing a hell of alot easier with a load of people) So download it n give it a go! And if ya do, ill see you in game.

Once you get all set up you might want to check out the jungle gym (superman will normally lend a hand to noobs) if your in the US or if your Euro check out MBUniverse their members are normally willing to throw a bone or two.

And of course if you'd like to play the awesome and epic battles from the Star Wars movies like the legions of droids slaughtering Jedi at the Geonosis Arena or lead R2 to victory on Tantive, among loads of other maps and battles, pop by the Full Authentic 24/7 server.;)

Or some battles that were in different movies and some battles that were from sources like games or books or yet more battles that are totally made up.

Don't expect to find movie-realness here. All your going to get is Mace vs. Vader, you have no choice. The game wouldn't have a movie like feel even if the mass of random characters from every different timeline were not fighting each other. HOLY CRAP LOOK ITS MALAK COMING OUT OF THE THEED GENERATOR ROOM, SEND HAN SOLO AFTER HIM, HE'LL SHOW HIM WHO'S BOSS. If you don't like this though, you could go play FA 24/7, but then you'd end up hating MB2 after about 3 seconds.

Though I must say this is the game for you if you really like Naboo and really like fighting alongside Jedi and nothing but Jedi every time you play the game. You must also forget anything you have ever learned about frag grenades. Because ours are magical Jedi killing frag grenades, they make them lose touch with the force. They don't exactly blow up, they kind of do a magical *POOF* and your enemy falls over, did it harm him? OF COURSE NOT, THIS IS STAR WARS. How did this come to be? Who knows. Balance > Realism, k?

ignore french fry. FA = awesome, frags = big explosion (but not as big as the thermal detonators)

and plus, jedi can use force push on the grenades to send them far away.

I find it kind of ironic that people like French fry come here and bitch about the mod.. yet no one forces him to play.. so i don't quite get, if he hates the mod why he still comes to these forums >_>.

Indeed, purging the temple with a good squad of clones is my favourite thing to do in MB2.

Purging the temple of clones with a padawan is better.

Funnily enough people like Frenchfry are addicted enough to hang around our forums annoying us ;)

Most of what you described can be done in mb2 in some form or another. When it comes to playing as certain characters or in certain scenarios mb2 is like a toolset. If your buddies are in on the game, then the sky is the limit.

I never said I didn't like the mod, reread my post. I just said it was pretty weird. <3
