We need some more referees in the tournament and my post in the tournament board seems not to be having much effect, so I thought I'd post it here. To be a referee in the tournament, you need to be able to do the following:
1. Be rational, mature and act decently. If you are prone to caps spam, screaming when people don't do what you ask, being impatient or just plain immature, don't bother applying.
2. Be impartial. Although referees are banned from refereeing any matches that their clans/teams are participating in, you still need to be impartial. Stick to and enforce the tournament rules during matches and don't stray away from it.
3. Be available for matches on this upcoming Friday, Saturday, Sunday afternoons or evenings and the following weekend after that. If you are not available for all those times/days, post which ones you will be available for and we can work out which matches you can referee for.
4. Be able to use admin proficiently. To lock a server you need to do /rcon g_password *password* . The passwords will be determined will in advance and both teams should know it well before the match, but if they don't it is your responsibility to inform them of it. To 'restart' a map without actually restarting the map do /rcon map_restart or /smod map_restart . Make sure everyone re-inputs their stats during the restart. Lastly, if anyone else from the clans playing other than the 5 'starting players' are on the server, they must be kicked. /smod kick *player* and /smod tempban *player* can deal with that. If any of the non-clan affiliated spectators are being rowdy, do the same thing. Lastly, /smod forceteam *player* *team* (team as in 1 for the attacking team, 2 for the defending, spectator for spectator) can speed things up if the clans aren't on their correct teams, etc.
Post your applications here. There won't be too many referees selected, but those who are will have an important job in the tournament.;)
