What do the numbers in brackets next to the team names mean? If they refer to what position the team will come in, I don't think this is very encouraging for other teams...

And the numbers next to the teams are 'seeds'. For the Euro section, TP is seeded one, Euro dv8 two, Crazy Hunters 3, DG 4'th.

It's the hacking person his/her problem that they can't play the game the way it is ****ing supposed to be. Perhaps you should consider making it so that all of the tier 1 rounds are 1 map, [Say, round 1, everyone plays Correllia] and then after the first teams have been eliminated, the next teams all play on 1 map, but a different one [Say round 2, everyone plays Cloudcity]

how does it give certain teams an unfair advantage? The two teams playing each individual map will be on the same map, so whatever advantage/disadvantage there is applies to both teams... If you're instead saying that some teams are better at some maps than other teams... well, if you pick just one map, those teams will still have that advantage. The way Meta's doing it is a good idea. Keeps everyone on their toes.

As Pilo T said, any advantage or disadvantage on a map will be shared by both teams, although the maps I chose are pretty balanced for competition. I also randomly drew the maps for the matches from the map pool for the element of surprise and to spice things up a bit, rather than have the umpteenth match on Corellia or Lunarbase. However, from the Quarters onward, each team in the match chooses a map to play so it will be a little different from then on.

Let no round win by objective whoring count. Killing is the only true measure in this game.

So what everyone should do is line up in dotf hangar, each team on one side and just charge each other. Let victory go only to the living.

for noobs maybe. One of the main reasons I ever do an objective is if someone like you is present in a server; then I can laugh at them when I win. Winning is the true measure and if Meta banned the objectives, the tournament would suck, but he's not stupid like that, fortunately.
I'd rather someone make a map similar to arena and each team would choose one player in one class to fight against the other team in whatever class. And they'd switch and repeat.
Whos the better gunner, whose the better jedi. Who can throw a nade better. Who can die funniest.
But, whatever, as long as someone records the vent cursing and wails of the team losing and after the match and posts it then I'll enjoy this so-called tournament:)

Keep the tournament contemporary to the play set thats most popular. The only reason I ever do obj. is to stop wasting time and let everyone play again.

I think he's talking about these forums in general. Most people wouldn't talk to you the way they do here in real life. They'd disagree with you, but they'd be more civil about it.
It's mostly the people who pretend they don't care what you think of them that are the problem; they're the ones who "say it like it is", "don't have anything to prove to anyone", and what have you. You don't really see it in the older members but a lot of the people here aren't exactly older.

Of course, if you're so damn skillful, shooting someone hacking the objective should be easy as pie for you. Unless that is against some honor code you have.
Either way, if you can't defend the objective which is rightfully named so, then you deserve to lose. Because if you're really that incompetent, or stupid I don't want you on my team ever.

I like to do the Obj, it's not actually the kills or my score that bothers me, although i do like to keep it nice and tidy, its the fact that I can turn my team into a coherant fighting force that can win the round.
Kills is ONE way to win.
Obj is to be honest the Correct way to win
