'Meet the Teams' of the Raging Battles MBII Tournament

'Meet the Teams' is an audio interview series we'll be conducting with as many as of the merc and clan teams involved in the tournament as possible. You won't know what to expect from these interviews. Some will be serious, some will be funny, and some will be just plain bizarre, but they'll all be worth listening to.

It really should have been done in multiple takes, so we don't have to listen to Venc stutter over the questions (he sounds quite a bit drunk).

Also, I reccommend encoding the mp3 around 22-32 KHz, mono, since the vent server you used is outputting around there (and in mono). It would make the filesize a lot smaller.

Our fourth episode sees us interviewing the Black Knight squad. I was not intending to interview the Black Knight squad, but when three of them rocked up to the CoR Ventrillo earlier demanding one, I obliged. I had the pleasure of asking Jason Bourne, aka DRAKE UPPERCUT; Lyal aka FRUG UPPERCUT; and Sir Charles, aka LANCE UPPERCUT a number of questions to try and get to the heart of what it really means to be an Uppercut and their feelings on the tournament. Shoutouts to HolyAngel, Crys and Xadus who couldn't help but get involved in the interview at some points.

In all honesty, I thought Metaguardian would have let the UC play, and then heavily watched them; just so he could kick them out mid-tournament. I thought that would be much more ego-rewarding, "Hah, I knew you cheated!" As opposed to, "I think you cheated in the past tournament, so you're not allowed to play!"

They are cocky, racist *******s though, I will admit...heh

They are no more or less "colorful" than any of the Exiles, myself included, who's rep is far more deserving.

To sum it up real quick: Especially in a community like ours that is so largely frequented by teenagers, we want to believe that people grow up and can change. Metaguardian's ban was 2 years ago, enough time for a person to change, and we believe his constant contributions to the community - from his support for FA, his videos and the recent tourney - made it clear that he did. Thus, the ban was lifted. ;)

I guess, the UPPERCUTS haven't made any "contributions" to the community, aside from the fact that they beat everyone in the past mb2tournament. Afterall, everyone was talking so much **** about them and how they'd be such a push-over team, even with hacks, etc...

Their contribution would be that a lot of teams realized how undeserving their inflated egos were.

Although they are still finalising their registration of their official team and their other possible merc teams, they will definitely be entering and I think that the community in general would like to know more about AOD, especially seeing the history they've had in the game.

So still not very many then, in my opinion a clan that has a "Join AOD now visit www.pooclan.com" on there main server only recruits for their clan numbers, I think u'll find invite only clans are alot more experienced and alot closer in person.

I personally think people shouldnt be dogging AOD as much if they play on their server. My clan NeoSith we usually let everyone join because we are a clan that doesn't look at skill but an attitude as well, which is why the clan can run itself. It has good attitude people working with each other and we reach our goals nicely, like i see AOD doing. For that i give them major props.

Honestly guys, I'm starting to regret organising this tournament. Instead of it being a fun and enjoyable event between teams, a minority, but a large one at that, is stirring up trouble with both the tournament in general and with me. Being in this tournament is a privilege. On the game, all you do is TK, spam, bug, and act like an idiot in general. Elsewhere, like on these forums, you spam, and act like an idiot in general. And for the lack of being able to TK people on a forum, you talk about those times you have TK'd people, and wish they'd bring back certain bugs from past builds, and B17 grenades. I can't think of a single post you've made that was actually helpful to a single individual on these forums, or the mod in general, even though you have over 1000 posts now. That's what, about two or three hundred posts in a month or two? Wow.

You and your clan let uppercuts infest your server and you think that they're fine. That should be a pretty good hint you shouldn't be let into the tournament. Especially when you act just like them, or worse at times. I wouldn't be surprised if you learned bugs or worse from them, like you did from the members in your previous "letter clan". Wouldn't be surprised if you passed them on to your team either.

Anyone with any sense would know your apology at this point is a lie, just to get into the tournament. Or possibly, for your team to do so, since you've probably been yelled at by them for putting their playing at risk.

These kind of off topic arguments happen almost every time you post, maybe you should look at yourself and ask why? You have literally managed to develop more heat here than the uppercuts have, and they have a 30 minute sound file basically devoted to their stupidity. They turned it into a big joke, because it is a big joke to the uppercuts. They have no real reason why they're so horrible. They just choose to be, they're quite pathetic. It makes them feel good to make others feel bad. Keep calling those kinds of people friends and see how things go for you. Hint : It won't be good.

I feel a bit bad for Meta. Trying to organize a tournament for one of the worst game communities possible must be extremely "fun". Thank you for trying at least. I hope your head doesn't explode from the frustration.
