Additionally, the following changes have been made to the tournament terms and conditions in total:
-- Dekas now allowed
-- Added two maps for quarter-finals instead of just one, each captain will select a map
-- Ping issues between American and Euro clients will be solved by the early Prelims to be held between american v american clans and euro v euro clans. In future stages of the competition where Euro clans v American clans multiple maps are played, one map will be played on Euro server, one will be played on American server (depending on who wins the pistol duel). Winning clan/team will be determined by round aggregate victories.
-- Clan rosters changed from a maximum of 7 (5 match players, 2 subs) to 10 (5 match-players players, 5 subs).
-- Prison & Echo base removed (with dekas the map will become too unbalanced), Com Tower (way too biased to the defensive team) REMOVED.
-- Geonosis Canyons added back in
-- Jabba may be removed due to the inclusion of dekas

Question about subbing rules:
Lets say I have the minimum 7. The enemy hero has dodge, so we cant use a sniper effectively. So I want a mandalorian specialist to replace him.
Can I sub freely in between rounds, or are the extra 2 only for people who have to leave?

The minimum is staying at 7, BUT for larger teams and groups you are allowed to have up to 10 people in your 'match roster'(5 match players, 5 subs/non-match players). From what I understand, no one except for players, referee(s), and spectators who are not in or affiliated with the two groups or clans playing, will be allowed at the server. If you need someone to substitute for a disconnected player or someone who has to leave, you have to contact them on xfire or another means. This is to avoid ghosting on ventrillos and so on. If any clan is found using spectators or 'friends' to ghost for them, they will be immediately kicked out of the tournament.
i thought this just turned out to be one of those "lets do this!" and never do it things but cool ok. i woud like to demo the matches.

If you're interested in being a ref in any of the matches Modsec (which also includes taking 'official' demos if the captains or any members of the team can't), you can sign up here:

I want to know if the subs you have can be subbed on and off, inbetween a round, like basketball.

It would be allowed, but it might be a little hard calling your players on xfire to come and sub around every round.
More people need to sign-up...
Yes, I hereby invite you all to join as we need more teams, as well as, subs are allowed every round, up to you how you manage to do it though.

Vortex you can make a merc team to play you just need to find other players that are willing to play with you.

The tournament involves clan and merc teams. At this point there are going to be more merc teams (about 8) than actual clan teams...

Just a reminder guys. The team deadlines are in a week (April 20'th) with match roster deadlines soon afterward (April 23'rd). If you haven't signed up your team yet, get cracking.;)

There is currently under three days to go before team deadlines close (April 20'th). The following teams have still not completed registration:
-- AOD
-- AOD mercenary teams
-- Team Poland
-- Mantank
-- Spellbound's team
-- Any other interested participants

21 teams have now signed up so far (1 Australian, 8 American, 11 European, 1 undetermined) and there's only a few that I know of that are still finalising their teams and soon to register.
Additionally, there are now less than two days to go before team deadlines close and less than five before roster deadlines close. For those of you who have registered, you might want to sort out your rosters sooner rather than later.
(Sorry for the triple posts, but I figured it would just be better to post 'updates' in this 'updates thread' rather than starting a new one each time:o)

The fairy penguins have asked to apply but seeing as there are no Antarctican servers, I have to put them either in the European or American group.
And in answer to your question, it's NeoSith, and I'm not sure which group they will be in until they certify their roster.
Hehe, I posted out roster.

European side of the draw is now LOCKED as there are 12 teams, which is the optimum number for two non-elimination prelims and four elimination prelims on the European side of the tree. The American side will be LOCKED when 12 teams have registered. If there are more than 12 teams, we may or may not have one or two 'qualification matches'.
