The CMP Team is looking to recruit testers to test upcoming release and re-release maps. Being a tester has certain requirements:
Regularly checking the forums.
Being reasonably active on IRC.
A valid contact email.
Giving feedback and constructive criticism after each test session
Showing up for reasonably frequent test sessions.
A >56k internet connection.
Absolutely NO discussion of future releases or plans to anyone not directly involved in the CMP.
Refraining from exploiting in public bugs you may discover in the line of duty. As UnsungHero says - exploit all you like in private.
If you do not plan on following the above rules, do not apply.
To explain a bit more about why each point is important:
Testing for the CMP involves close communication between testers and mappers, as well as regular test sessions with enough people to be able to explore the map as it will realistically be experienced when live. The forums are an important medium for scheduling test sessions, providing feedback after sessions, and for mappers to exchange ideas and resources and ask for opinions and help.
Showing up to test sessions regularly is important because without enough people there, the maps simply can't be well enough checked, and that leads (and has recently led) to apparent failures of testing. Our test sessions will typically start some time between 1600 and 2000 GMT, and last for a few hours. We have some Australian testers / mappers, and tests will occasionally start earlier for their benefit. Tests are also usually on weekends, but there is rarely conflict between beta testing and CMP, so one should not preclude you from the other. No test session is mandatory, but testers are expected to attend at least half of the 2-5 (approx.) test sessions per month, and to let us know if they can't make it in advance.
On top of that, people are encouraged to test in their own time, whenever they feel up for it, and smod for the test server is given to all testers so they can get on and change the map around etc. when they want.
An adequate internet connection is required because testers and mappers will have to download some material before each test session - usually in the region of 5 - 50MB, and significantly more before the first test. This is always ready for download about 2 hours prior to any test.
Our Non-Disclosure Agreement is pretty simple. As a tester, there's probably not going to be that much temptation to leak, but as a general rule, don't mention in public things that mappers haven't mentioned before you - be they maps, map changes, bugs, or any other information which you're privy to and others are not. Furthermore, the temptation may increase when you have access to mappers' .map files etc. So I just thought I'd mention now that they belong to the mappers.
To apply, send an email to mb2cmp@gmail.com with the information below. Your application will be reviewed by all of the CMP Co-Leads (Alpha, bigFoot, UL, Yzmo). Sending your application in more than once will decrease your chance of being selected. As will signing our email address up for spam - we'll know it was you.
The following info should be included in the application email:
Your in-game and forum names
Your age.
Country and timezone.
Around 50 words on why you want to become a tester. You can write more if you want, but we don't promise to read it... :P
Best of luck!

P.S.: A few images of happy teams. That's just what we're like. Look how happy we are. Look how happy.
