Please Read
Raging Battles MBII Tournament is an MB2 tournament created by Metaguardian and the CoR clan providing American and European Moviebattles clans and mercenary squads with the opportunity to play each other in a competitive, knockout tournament environment. This tournament will be held through the duration of late April, through May, and into June. The following are the rules, terms and conditions (may be subject to change):
Playing Format:
This is a knockout tournament and will be done in a tree format. Clans will be seeded to avoid the best clans being forced to play each other in the first round. This however will not apply to mercenary teams and they will not be seeded. After the initial preliminary finals (and possibly a second round of preliminary finals depending on how many clans and squads sign up), there will be the quarter-finals (8 teams), semi-finals (4 teams), and the Grand Final (2 teams). The winner will be crowned the best clan or team in Moviebattles.
Clan, mercenary and player squad rules:
1. Each clan is only allowed to have one team playing in the tournament. Two teams from the same clan will not be allowed.
2. Each clan and merc team is required to have a squad of seven players. Five of your choice will be used in the match, with the other two being substitutes.
3. Players will not be able to play for both clan and mercenary teams in the tournament. You will have to choose where your allegiances lie.
4. No aliasing will be allowed in the tournament. Any use of aliases to cover up the real identity of players or just for 'lulz' will be punished by the perpetrator and his/her team being booted from the tournament.
5. Any deliberate use of hacks, exploits or bugs will result in the perpetrator and his/her team being booted from the tournament.
Maps for the Tournament:
Map pool:
Lunarbase
Duel of the Fates
Corellia
Tatooine
Echo Base
Geonosis Canyons

The usual maps of 'lunar', 'dotf', 'corellia' and so on are not being used in this stage because they are overplayed in competition mode and will be 'saved' for the final stages of the competition. The following maps are underplayed, but all offer great opportunities for strategies and tactics and are quite balanced. These maps may be subject to change depending on the input of the teams and players in the future):
Echo Base
Geonosis Canyons
Jabba
Mountain Keep

Yavin Assault
Star Destroyer

Grand Final map selection (one map will be selected by each team, with the final map, if necessary, to be selected by the administrator):
Lunarbase
Duel of the Fates
Corellia
How the matches will operate:
Organising the match:
-- The teams that are drawn against each other/due to play against each other will BOTH determine their preferred times for the match. Once this time is agreed upon, both teams are contracted to this time, so to speak.
-- Each map has a maximum of twenty minutes warm-up/wait for arrival of late players time before the match will start. If a team does not have all their players, they will either play with the players they have or may choose to forfeit the match, which result in their elimination.
-- If BOTH teams face some unforeseen difficulty in playing the match (server problems, both teams not having their numbers of players), then the match will be rescheduled.
-- For the semi-finals and grand finals, each team will select a map.
Arriving at the match:
-- Metaguardian is the administrator of this tournament and CoR are the main clan initiating this tournament. As such the Full Authentic server (and possibly the CoR Open server) will be available for the teams to play their matches. The FA server is hosted by Jnive and DSi industries, while both servers are located in central/southern USA.
-- If a clan has their own server, the match can either be played at their server or one of the CoR servers, they may choose which one they would prefer to play at. However, for the sake of efficiency and organisation it would be preferred that they play at their own clan servers. Any matches involving merc v merc teams will be played at a CoR server, with no exception.
-- The location of each match (server-wise) will be determined well in advance before the matches are scheduled to start.
Playing the match:
-- 5 v 5, with up to 2 subs on each team
-- Before each match, the captains of both teams will pistol duel (switch to ET class, set your points only in pistol and ammo, no points in anything else). The winning captain chooses whether to attack or defend first. In the semi-finals and finals, the winning captain also gets to play their preferred map first.
-- No droidekas will be permitted for use
-- 1 player per class
-- First to 5 round wins then switch teams, same again
-- The winner of the preliminary, quarter-final and semi-final matches will be determined on round aggregate victories. The winner of the grand final will be determined on map victories (best of 3)
-- NO spectators will be allowed from the clan or merc team playing. The substitutes will not be allowed onto the server unless they are called for. This is to avoid ghosting out of positions and cheating through the free cam function of spectator mode. HOWEVER, non-affiliated players from the clan or merc team involved, will be allowed to spec. If it is found that these spectators are involved in ghosting team positions to their 'friends' on a TS or ventrillo channel, the perpetrator and the team/clan involved will be booted from the tournament.
-- The captains of each team MUST record demos of the entire match (split your demos in half. start a new demo for each half of the match to avoid them being too big).
-- Trash-talking and good-natured bantering is a part of all competitions and I won't be a tight-ass by banning it. However, cotninual harassment, mistreatment of players and clans, continual insults, deliberate tking of other teams and any other misbehaviour of that kind WILL result in consequences for the team involved. This may result in your team being eliminated from the tournament. Keep the competition polite and in good spirits folks.
Post-Match:
-- It is required that a member of the winning team after each map, post a write-up about the match (can be short or long, your choice) on the tournament board.
-- Any grievances or disputes will be dealt with by the administrator. At this point, the demos of both captains will be called upon, and members and captains of each team will be consulted.
-- The losing team of each match will be eliminated, the winning team will progress to the next phase of the competition.
Other:
-- If anyone is interested in shoutcasting the game or videoing/demoing the game from spectator mode, let me know and we can arrange something.
