By the grace of God, Immenor completes Cloud City and releases it to the screeching cries and greedy anticipation of hundreds of tween, teen and adult Moviebattles II gamers. It subsequently replaces DOTF as the most played map and now all the servers run Cloud City 24/7.

Do you think this would be as bad as the DOTF 24/7 phenomenon or would you be more happy with this than DOTF 24/7?

Any single map that's played 24/7 is bad. Doesn't matter which one it is. While a change to 24/7 Cloud City(or whatever else) in the short term would be a refreshing change of pace, it's ultimately the same problem.

I'd play CC 24/7 for as long as MB2 continues to have people playing it.

I played MB2 a lot back when CC was really popular. I never got sick of that map and I've probably played that more than I've played DotF. The old CC is better than DotF. That's not to say I wouldn't be sick of it if it were still 24/7. CC felt more free. I mean, while it can be argued that it was the same thing each round, that doesn't have to be the case. Going side and opening stuff in DotF is not only something that rarely happens, but it doesn't really change a whole lot. On CC, there were actually a lot of different ways you could go about playing the map and it was always different.

I loved the tight-quarters battles on the side of CC..

I wouldn't mind if CC replaced DotF. Hell, if that happened, I'd go get my JKA disc and reinstall MB2(although I was planning on doing that whenever RC2 came out anyways :p)

I'm not sure why people assume immenors CC is going to be wildly popular. Its a great looking map visually, but it doesnt follow the old CC design and we need only to look at our current map pool to see that new designs are very hit and miss with the community.

I have high hopes for Immen's CC, but only time can tell.

The only map that could absolutely guarantee popularity, but sadly a map that none of our mappers are currently willing to make, is something that paid homage to the CC layout and round progression.

I dunno about everyone else, but I was referring to the old CC; though this may not be in any way, shape or form a response to my post. Just getting it out there, though.

I think it would be up to the CMP to rehash the basic layout ideas and such for the old CC... aka, pay homage. I mean, if I ever get back into mapping (should find out pretty soon, actually, though it'll be hard to reorient myself back on the old PC and back with radient) I'll finish the map that I'm making, which is heavily inspired by Corellia and DotF (though the traces of DotF are much, MUCH more subtle). I just think that the safest way (which is good for me since I'm a very newish mapper) to make a good, solid map is to take a bunch of already successful influences and mash them together. So you take everything that is already working, and present it in a new and exciting way, rather than trying something completely new; that's up to the professionals to handle. I really had a great feeling about my second map (though I still need to finish the first one), so it sucks that I'm in the position I'm currently in :/
