View Full Version : Goodbye, for good

Darc

Over the past few months, since my departure from MB2 in August, I have been debating on whether or not to return in June and decided not to. MB2 has been great, but I don't like the way how the game has been such a hotbed for noobs, Dotf and the lack of new content. Sure the team releases new content every now and then, but the game has not introduced anything new or fun ever since B17 (aside from the FA changes which have been fantastic). The game has taken a turn to cause new people to join the game instead of keeping old veterans entertained. I would like to thank the Team for its creation of such a great mod, which is something that rarely happens with a group not in anyway, shape, or form recieving money or a part of a major corperation (exception being Kotf which was never even released though it recieved a boatload of money). And most of all, I would like to thank the community for keeping the fun in the game, forcing constant adaptation which is always good and introducing me in the first place to this mod which has kept me addicted for the past two years.

If it wasn't for all the 'noobs' coming into the mod, this and any other game or mod would be death because 'Veterans' won't stick around forever you know...

It's the cycle of life...

The above is regarding your rants, as for yourself, although I don't know you personally, I'm glad you're quitting because you mention that you are addicted to a video game. So it's good that your moving on as Video Games are meant for entertainment to once in a while kill some time, or have fun when over at a friend's house. What they aren't is daily routine addictions...Shame on You for wasting two years to a game where you have gained nothing you pillock.

Chill the hell out? Darcs a good guy.

I fail to see how Russian's 'rant' is negative or why he has to chill out. Being concerned about someone's health isn't bad at all. If someone can identify a problem such as an addiction in their life and can take positive steps toward rectifying that error -- good for them. While I doubt that it poses such a threat to Darc, I'm glad that Russian pointed out the low level of productivity accompanying two years spent playing MBII. Bye.

Well, of course the game is designed to attract new players. That's how games stay alive.

If you mean that the team hasn't yielded to every whim the forum community has had, then yeah, it's not really about keeping "old veterans" around, but I don't see why any game should want to set that as their focus or objective. They're striving to create something fun and balanced, and if you don't find it fun for you anymore, then it's great that you're movin' on to greener pastures instead of sticking around and moaning about the "old days".

So cheers, good bye, and good luck in your future endeavours.

Video games are moving more toward being as popular as physical sports. He didn't waste any time if he enjoyed playing. He decided to put effort into this competitive game and I doubt you have done anything more productive yet.

In my opinion, nothing is a waste of time if it has value to yourself. If people were never addicted to games we could all be blatantly throwing stones at each other. I don't think you should be calling anyone a pillock, especially not in your first 9 posts. So far those first 9 are hardly impressive.

You joined in 2006 yet complain how noobs ruin MB?
I don't intend this as a flame. Joining later doesn't make you a lesser person, it doesn't exclude you being a nice fellow etc. I don't even know you. So these are directed at people like you in general.
Why have you made this thread? You want to see how many people will miss you? If you're retired and not going to post anymore why have you put that line in your sig? Why will you return 3 months later?
Honestly, this attitude turned MB into what it is today.
How come those who played in 2004 could leave without trying to appear important?

Goodbye threads are retarded, but anyways..

Nobody quits a video game for good. Sooner or later, you end up playing it again, whether it be for boredom, or to just go in and TK somebody so you can giggle to yourself over it - or you might be one of those tards who thinks if you show up again after quitting, everyone is going to be all friendly to you and profess unending love for your return... queer.

Saying you're quitting a game is like saying you're leaving a forum, ..nobody actually cares that much, and probably wouldn't notice if you just stopped showing up.

Anyway, in regards to the original posters adieu...

What in the world would force people back to playing video games they don't like? I've tried a lot of games, some where so bad I deleted them instantly and never saw again.

Jaat theres a difference between a game you hate, and a game like mb2 which Darc played for a long time and probably enjoyed. I doubt he hates it if he played it for that long, therefore its perfectly reasonable to say he could play it again.

I hate noobs. Noobs suck a lot. They make threads that force me to flame them and discourage them. They make suggestions that force to me flame and discourage them. They shoot me in the back which forces me to flame them and rocket them. They **** the teams up which forces me to flame them and rocket them. They support DOTF spam and anything that makes jedi more powerful, which makes me flame them and boycott their servers. They support hillary clinton, which makes me flame them and move to canada. no, I really didn't think you would.
I'm more of a forums person right now cause MB2 is having difficulties working on my Vista Laptop. Aside from that I'm busy with work and working out, and school starts again soon (Jan 22nd) and I have slightly harder (not saying much) classes this semester, so I probably won't be around much until May (I think that's when I get out).

How've you been?
