Hey there!
Since I've played MBII long enough on the same maps I decided to create a custom one. :D
Now my idea is the Planet Myrkr from the Expanded Universe. It's the Homeworld of the Ysalamiri and base to the Smuggler Talon Karrde.
My Idea on the Objective is an Imperial Siege on Karrdes' Fortess or something simillar.
Post your suggestions.
Here are some pictures to give you an impression of the environment.
However I plan to add a few higher buildings to the fort due to tactial reasons.

Yeah would be cool, but it has to be star wars, so I think it would be cool. :cool:

I really like the look of the senario - going from the comic. The city reminds me of siege_desert in base jka - lots of relatively low buildings. Would make playing the mand class particularly interesting, but also something you'd have to watch for during the design of the map - especially any objectives you plan to include...
(although I think we'll have our class restriction stuff in by the time you finish it - I'm guessing anyway, of course this depends on how quickly you map! So you could potentially dis-allow the mand class for this map in authentic mode. Of course, it would still be nice if the map could play in a half-decent manner in open mode too...)
...anyway, I say go for it :) And if you need any help from the team, don't hesitiate to ask. We are busy of course, but we will help you out as and when we can...

yay, maybe we could map a series of thrawn trilogy maps, maybe peregrines nest too. Even do the mission where you save karrde from the sd.
Also you could do 2 different missions with one map, there could be one where you have to get an npc kardde to an exit before the imperials get there with there atats.
I like the idea of a Myrkr MB-map. As Ren has said, the scenario could be nice. What do you think about the objectives btw? npc Karrde? npc Luke? npc Han? no npc? :p
Seriously, maybe a npc would not be *realistic* here. I mean, Luke or Karrde are not like Jabba. Could be possible that the objective was something like: "the player with the Han model gets to the ship"? That would be for a "authentic mode" of course. The imperials (attacking side) would have to... well... kill everybody :D (or that *special* player/npc/whatever) Or maybe destroy the ship for example?
What classes would have the.. umm... rebels/mercs team btw? Here the mercs are not with the empire ;)
Anyway, good luck with this Expanded-Universe-battles map :D

I'd sat Karrdes mercs are a different kind of merc. In the novels Karrde is often described as a data merchant kind of person as are all his men. If the story was modified to make it play better as a siege map you could have an auto moving Karrde npc who must reach Wild Karrde as well as an auto moving Han/Lando reaching Falcon. Maybe the imps must capture (well kill but imagine set too stun - maybe kill with rifle and not det) all 3 to win.

Hrm I'd love to include my Aratech Speeder Model into the map ... but well the model itself is finished since December if I just knew someone who could skin it :D
And don't even suggest to use Monsoontides' or Duncans' Speeders :cool:

I can try to skin it, it might not be very good but i'll give it ago. Pm me if your interetsed. Also you should try doing a clone wars version - like the toy one i seen online.

Why not? Its accurate to the movies and I could easily put together some quick anims for it.

Also, right now i'm looking at my vintage toy speeder (vintage casue i to young too have owned when new :)) It has vents down the side of the body.

Ok, i have just had a look at monsoontides one, i regret to say, no matter how much i try i will never get it looking nice like that.
Monsoontide has had a lot of experience. And is considered very good at what he does.

no doubt mons' work is top but if I've got the same model in stock I simply don't want to use another one.
I didn't mean to insult mon or Duncan. When I think about what they did for the editing community ... :eek:

I know :). Well i done some, but it will never be anything like mons.
As you can see above it looks ok (what i done so far), but prolly not worth releasing.
Have you tried any yourself yet? Its well worth it

of course i did but I've got absolutely no experience in skinning. It would look even worse than Duncans Speederskin (sorry :P)
Duncans' work:
by the looks of it a very nice map could come out of this, lots of broken architecture, similar to tatooine in places with a dash of yavin, very nice choice.

Oooooh, i had an idea, The rebels spawn at the 2 crashed skipray blastboatsand have to make it into hyliard city(think thats the right name) say into a certain building. The imperials have to stop them.

The only thing which would make it better is getting rid of the damn bike bug which also affected han in cc... (so far i haven't seen any hovering vehicle without the bug)

Has anyone got any ideas for the metal/carbon parts (i dunno what they made of, al the toys have black).
When somebody is riding a bike in mp some people (not riding a vehicle) will start to see weird things (camera shaking), it also happened with han in the CC map (that's why he was removed). From what i've seen it happens with all hovering vehicles (stap, maul speeder, etc).

And frozen Han Solo in CloudCity map too? Is it the same bug? Wierd one btw :rolleyes:
And very annoying, you could win in cc just by taking han and running with him to wherever you needed to go since nobody could see anything...

well the problem is that I once got that bug in basejka Siege on the siege_desert map... so it doesn't seem to be MBII dependant.
