1) The vast number of republican votes in Ohio came from god fearing, rural, religious farmers who did not want to support gay marriages, cloning, abortion and all the "sinful" ****. another reason for the republican win was that the spent money of TV cables in the area. Kerry was 2% behind in ohio, if he won it, he would pass the finish line and boom!
It's not only a loss for the U.S, but it's a loss for the whole world, except Tony Blair, bush's only foreign friend.

This is of course at the discretion of the moderators, but unless flaming occurs I really don't see any harm in having a discussion on principles and politics. Because of Tom's post however, I will refrain from giving my opinion until or if the mods give the ok.

I believe that Americans voted Bush in because they wanted national security. Bush may not be the best anti-terrorist military strategist, but he has courage and resolve that allows him to do things a more domestic leader like Kerry couldn't stomach. Even though Bush has made a few mistakes and not done the best job in the economy department, I guess Americans want someone familiar that they can trust instead of gambling and putting their nation in the hands of a new leader.
In all honesty, I would've voted for Bush if I had been an American. I know nothing about Kerry or his political history, for all I know he could launch all the nukes once he got into office. With Bush, at least I know his positions on important issues and that they aren't completely ridiculous. For one, I admire his ability to stand up against gay marriage (however I feel about the issue) despite coming under fire from a variety of groups. What I dislike about Bush, however, is his wanton throwing away of American, Iraqi, and Afgahni lives. He pretty much killed everyone in Afgahnistan except for his target, Osama. He has ulterior motives in Iraq also, whatever the administration may say.

besides congress has just as much power as the pres.... if they could agree on anything same with the senate but im pretty much done with the political religous stuff for a while so i end on this note
