View Full Version : Why did empire lost?
Well, i was watching these new remastered episodes and in the 6th one, i figured out why Empire lost the war. It was because of the disorder in the empire soldiers, they were never taught discipline and many other things. Usually only the best soldiers get to meet/stand next to the Emperor, and what do i see:
look at these guys legs, the one on the right is standing correctly but the left one, god damn! (actually they are both standing incorrectly)
And the other thing: they were never taught how to aim in Stormtrooper school, look how they shoot! They got beaten up by small ewoks with sticks!!!

Sadly, with the exception of Tantive IV, stormtroopers never lived up to what they were actually supposed to be. They were supposed to be highly trained and disciplined soldiers modled after the famous Roman Legions. They were also supposed to be higly skilled. Obi made a comment that the killing of the Jawas could not have been done by Sandmen because the blaster marks were so precise. The part with ewoks killing or disabling Stormies is just plain dumb. Stupid little teady bears with small bows that couldn't pierce a plastic bottle at 20 feet (no way physically) were taking out Storm Troopers even though they had that duraplastec (I forgot the exact name) armor that was supposed to withstand some small blasters. If you pay close attention, the little arrows bounce off the armor like they should, but then the Stormtrooper immediately plays dead. *twang**bounce* "oh no! I've been hit!" *st jumps over*. :P
The little sticks that the ewoks think are clubs are even worse. This part was even more dumb than Jar Jar fighting the droids.
Look at the scene in which vader lands at the death star... there are FOUR stormtroopers, none of them holding the blaster in the same way, plus an officer running in the background because he's late or something... what an army... they should've sticked to making clones.
It's funny to see people notice these things.
I think I'll take a look to see if any 'troopers are slacking off. :D

did u notice in a new hope when ben was turning off the the tractor beam how the 2 stormies were there? he did force something made a noise, and the stormies looked back. If i were one of the stormies i would of seen him! i mean really

Han would comically enter the hangar full of troops and be TOTALY ripped to pieces Saving Private Ryan style.
Soon all the rebels would be dead, and The Emperor and his everloyal right hand Vader would trek across the vast reaches of space to visit local goverments and fu<k people up the ass.
And if they didnt like it, They'd get their green, slick asses kicked by a white plastisteel boot.

I don't think they're standing incorrectly...watch the movie, look at the rows. At least the rows are consistent with themselves, the row with feet standing apart stays that way throught he whole row, likewise for mr. feet together.

the battle of endor was so ****ed up the imps had so much fire power on they're side they should of won in 5 mins

yeah but when the ewoks attacked they had surpirise on thier side you can see this with how some of the stormys run around, they look lost :p plus also with a melee wook like chew, kicking the s*** out of people :p
They didn't die because of the stabs... it was more like "OH GOD! THE CUTENESS! AAGGGGG!" then they died, or got blind if they were lucky.
I have to agree with that endor fight. It was so unrealistic... ewoks throwing little rocks and every stormie dying to them.
It would have been more realistic when this machine would have came and destroy all the imperials...

Anyway that ewok scene reminds me of the end of the LotR:FotR. Little hobbits throwing rocks to uruk-hai and they dying exactly same way as did stormies...

The best part of battlefront is blasting ewoks on endor.
The best part of battlefront is when you turn it off and the frustration ends.
From what I'm told, its actually quite fun on xbox live... and seems designed with that console in mind rather than pc. I'm so sick of good titles getting diluted for the xbox market all the time (same thing happened with deus ex 2).

no i think we all know why the empire lost... laziness all those stormies were used to cruisin around on thier dewbacks and in thier at-sts and fancy ties when you catch em on foot theyre like OH NO MY ARM SEEMS TO BE DRAWN DOWN AND TO THE RIGHT how can you miss a wookie 3 feet away (new hopes detention cell scene) those lazy imps coulda friend han chewie and luke like nothin but they just didnt care they wanted thier paychecks so they could go pick up some cheap twi'lek whores but now they cant cuz theyre dead
Guess people don't like to see "evil" win :( Otherwhise: the rebel fleet would have been destroyed before it even left warp in RotJ, the wookies would have been fried and Boba Fett would not have been owned by a blind man :eek: and the first deathstar wouldn't have had such a lame flaw :p
I still wonder how that vent works... I mean... if you go throwing air or whatever cools the generator into space, you must have ships constrantly bringing a suply of it else you'll soon find yourself without anything to cool the generator with...

Anyway, that is little comic yes, but remember than in NH imperials wanted that rebels can escape from the death star. So they could then track down their base... and get destroyed :)

The reason the imperial stormtroopers went downhill so fast was that unlike the clone wars where they had epic clones of Jango, because of civil war going on for so long they started recruiting people in order to keep the demand, so like any war where you have drafts, retard eventually make it to the army and screw it up.
Nevertheless, sad how this went all the way to the empires best legions like he said in EP VI. I guess they were that needy.

I heard Kamino was pwnt sometime in the Expanded Universe and whatnot. Plus huge need for troops probably meant that even cloning couldnt produce that much.

The empire could no more fund cloning, that's why they quit it.
The Rebel fleet's survival in the Battle of Endor was understandable, both sides had almost an equal amount of ships. Also, when they destroyed Executor/Avenger (not certain which one) so it crashed into the Death Star II, it may have severely dropped the morale of Imperial Troops, and in turn, increase the morale of the Rebels.
The Battle of Endor is another thing... Well, I'd expect Ewoks to be hard to aim. They're small, and hard to spot on that landscape, a mistake I kept doing in BFII, it's hard to notice them (my eyesight is good...)
and in turn, increase the morale of the Rebels.
Exactly why I made the points I made on IRC. The Emperor and his empire should have done more to undermine the rebel alliance's ability to recruit.
All through the 'prequel' era he's undermining the jedi council by playing the philanthropist senator for the people. Then all of a sudden he's evil incarnate? Of course the rebels recruiting is going to skyrocket. It was obvious he didn't have the people's will at heart.
I imagine it'd be the same situation if **** Cheney became president while republicans had the majority. :P
Plus, destroying Alderaan was a pretty bad PR move. Up until that point very few took the Rebellion seriously, both for and against. And then not only did the Empire destroy a major inner rim world killing billions of people, they went ahead and got their big fancy death ball destroyed within weeks afterward.

Well they weren't expecting to get their 20 year or so in the making artifical planet/ deathstar killed so easily. The reason they completely dissoved the senate and Alderaan was because now the had the military power to control a planet. They had deterrence, who is gonna stand up to them when any uprising = death.
Compare it to Japan being nuked in WWII that was horrible PR but it made Japan surrender ASAP after 2nd bomb. It also led to epic deterrence in Cold war. destructive power is an important asset, and while PR is the best, I think military deterrence is the 2nd best.
