Ep 4 5 'n 6 will be digitally remastered to fit whit this plot-twist (But lucas always wanted the stormies to have walkietalkie rifles, he just didnt have the technology at that time)

And there will be a Vong cameo.

The one character that I fear would kill EP3 is General Grievious. He is like a character from Transformers. I pray that Lucas will have the sense to leave him off the film, he would only be a distraction for Anakin's fall to the dark side.

The first half of trailer consists of ... a familiar voice over with Alec Guinness. Fans will love to hear him speak his monologue to Luke from A New Hope about "Jedi Knights always being the guardians of peace." As we hear these familiar phrases, they've intercut shots from various Star Wars episodes, excluding Episode 3. Only when the monologue ends with "Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force" about 40 seconds into the trailer do we see the face of Anakin. He is partly covered with dark hood, looking positively evil.
This is followed by the shot of erupting volcanoes, then some sort of volcanic field with crab-like creatures and then darkness, all accompanied by Vader breathing. Then the following is heard:

Sidious: "Lord Vader..."

Vader: "Yes?"

Sidious: "Rise."

Then we see Anakin in full Vader gear rising on some sort of operating table to which he is chained. The rising is slow and is intercut with shot of various Star Wars main characters. When the table has fully risen so that Vader is basically standing upright, the meatiest part of trailer begins, with many, many shots from Episode III. Most of them are very, very short - this will be something for freeze-frame fanatics to analyze.

The ones that stuck in my memory:

Dozens of Wookiees on some sort of floating platform.

Padme with signature Leia hairdo.

The Tri-Fighter, aka the precursor to the TIE fighter with three curving wings and guns mounted between each wing. They shoot red lasers.

The ARC Clonefigthter, aka the precursor to X-Wing, with three wings on each side.

A gigantic starship being sprayed by streams of something that looks like dense acid.

The trailer ends with the title "THE SAGA IS COMPLETE - MAY 2005" and ... (end spoilers) is about 100 seconds long.

We've been told that all of the music is edited from previous Episodes, featuring Darth Vader's Theme prominently. We're pumped about this, but have to admit this is quite a surprise to see this key moment this early in marketing.

Anakin's reply to Palpatine is Yes, Master? and not just "Yes" and previsouly reported. Sweet. It is said somehow questioningly, as if he is not exactly sure what is happening.
Palpatine's "Riiiiiiiiise" is so devilish and long, they've clearly spent some time on making this section of the film perfect. Still finding it hard to believe they are going to show this section so early. Wow.

We've been told that the voice of Vader is ... close ... but definitely sounds different from the original Darth Vader. There should be no doubt that Lucas could make him sound perfectly like the classic Vader if he wanted, so this must be intentional. After all, it's logical that teenage Anakin under the Vader mask sounds slightly different than old Anakin in Episode IV under the same mask. We think it is either an early cut without finished effects (voice and visual) or Hayden Christensen's voice modulated through some advanced filters to sound very, very much like Jones. If you played this to casual moviegoer, he or she may not even notice any difference from Vader's classic voice.

And to clarify an earlier point or two, the lines of dialogue we posted are spoken over completely black screen right after the volcanic field shot. And the Tri-fighter we mentioned is actually the new Jedi starfighter.

There are no mechanical characters in the trailer except R2D2 and C3PO, not even for a split second. There is someone with sharp teeth and humanoid head, slightly resembling the alien from Enemy Mine. Someone should post a picture here for comparison, though it might just be Tion Meddon. So unless its the off chance that is Grievous unmasked, the Droid General does not figure into this first trailer

Anakin will reveal that Jar Jar is actually Yoda's father, who has the ability to snatch bodies to renew, replenish and hide his actual age. Thus, Yoda will turn into green goo - star in the next Ghostbusters movie - and then move on to solidify on Dagobah in the muck pools and all night beastathon with Ms Piggy.

they could be easily implemented to MBII, but the idea does sound a bit silly: they don't deflect blaster fire in the game and there is no evidence that they could use the force. so it sounds like the class would have to be superacrobatic or something to make up for these lacks in defence against other classes.

The Physics thread was one thing, deegs. This statement alone has made me lose all respect for you.

Anyway introducing Grievous was as stupid as introducing Jar Jar. A robot that can use sabers? I mean wtf are they saying Grievous is the template for Darth Vader? And why the hell was Durge in the cartoons? I thought he only came into play when Boba Fett was starting out as a bounty hunter. In any case, I hope Durge does not show up unless somehow Boba ages 15 years and is a novice bountyhunter in Ep3 (which is only 5 years after Ep2 I think).

I would enjoy seeing baby Luke and baby Han flipping the bird to Vader, however.

Grievious will be plainly used as a shallow robot-saber wielding-killing robot for the sake of having another villain who can kill Jedi and obviously, he will be killed off at some point in the movie. Just the fact that Lucas is bringing Grievious into EP3 is enough to make me nervous about this movie. I've actually debated this on www.theforce.net, but apparently most of its members are several years away from puberty.

I hate how Lucas introduces and kills off various characters within one Episode (main characters that is): 1) Ep1 - Qui-Gon and Darth Maul, 2) Jango Fett. Grievous is just going to add to this list, which, even though I'll be happy to see him dead, will make matters worse. I wouldn't be surprised if all the AOTC Jedi were slain through bs fights as well, which can sort of add to this list as we only saw who they were in Ep2, not actually seen them do anything important. The (six?) saber duels are something I hope to see as well as some sort of Merc vs Jedi fight (hopefully). Grievous like some1 said earlier will 'distract the audience from Anakin's fall to the darkside' and 'was created for the kids to say WOW HES COOL and make their moms buy 500 million toys'.

Dont forget the actual story goes far beyond the movies wether u subscribe to EU or not!
And i dont mean just the books/games/comics etc
All these prequel films are set in a specific time, most likely due to the rise of important characters/storylines......
i.e how good would a SW film be set 12 months B4 TPM, or 6 months before a ANH.
I mean if TPM wasnt introduced in TPM there would have been a poooooooor storyline.

The whole saga is based around anakin! (tho some argue tis based around c3p0 and r2d2) villians come and go, if they didnt it would be a crap film....lucas is well known for his vison of a classic romantic hero story type vision of star wars( and based that samurai film i cant remember)

And he will always be percieved that way purely because he looks like a robot - there are no life-like characteristics about him physically. That's another reason why he doesn't even look like a real Star Wars character.

I wasn't drawing comparisons with him to a droid. I meant that his look was not suited for Star Wars. Except for the slits in his eyes, everything else on his body is metal, and he even wears a silver cape. If I didn't have the knowledge that he is a cyborg, I would've said he is a robot. In my opinion, he looks like the latest model of the Terminator rather than a Star Wars character.

And how the hell can he not be Force-sensitive and wield four lightsabers at once and twirl them like little fans? I seem to recall that Lucas once said that lightsabers were unique to the Jedi and Sith only, and now we have some ugly-ass cyborg utilizing sabers like helicopter blades.

is it me or did it look like the droids were on tantive 4? im sure i could see it in the background, it looked like it showed a few shots of Mace windu fighting a sith, couldnt tell who it was just saw a red saber for a split second, it looked like he was in palps throne room, but it could be either palp or anakin, but if palp has a lightsaber in this episode why didnt he use it in ROTJ? Vader could of had a lightsaber duel with palp instead of getting fried and killing the almighty master sith by noobishly throwing down a pit MB style :p

It looks to me like just another fancy moves hack and slasher, and it probably won't be multiplayer, least of all online multiplayer. Judging by how the game is set up and the amount of eye candy there, I'm guessing its going to be another awful-camera-single-ended-gameplay-button-mashing-frenzy-stupid-puzzles-routine-bosses-action -hack and slash. If you beat the game you'll unlock bonus costumes and cheat codes and there's your 60 bucks

Star Wars Arcade and Star Wars Trilogy. The two are identical as far as the console for it goes (if I remember correctly) but they are two different games. I think Arcade is centered more towards the gun/flying, while Trilogy ends with you facing off against Vader. And the graphics are pretty good.

You obviously never played Xwing, Imperial Persuit, BWing, Tie Fighter, Defender of the Empire, XWing Alliance, Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, etc etc etc....

After that, the games have become progressively more average, as the marketing morons @ lucasarts target the button bashing console kiddies.

Infact, the only truely bad StarWars games have been the recent console games written to exploit the Ep1 & 2 license =/

On the topic of SW games, the Super Star Wars games rocked. Though, I prefer the esb and rotj ones because the first one didn't have as good gameplay/sounds. The thing I loved about them was that they were just plain fun. They weren't usually too difficult or too easy. They were just right.

And as for other sw games I'd also recommend X-Wing Alliance, Tie Fighter, and Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight.

padme dies when anakin discovers that she has brought obi-wan to mustafar with her. He gets very enraged and out of an un-controlled rage , he force pushes her into some rocks, and then ani and obi have about a 10 min. battle.Yes she dies after giving birth to the two little anti-christ's.The cause of her death after birth was really Ani's anger.
